Publication number: 20230419729Abstract: A behavior detection platform may obtain video data of an environment including a guest and may determine a set of normal guest behaviors associated with the environment. The platform may analyze, using a first machine learning model, the video data to identify features of the guest and analyze, using a second machine learning model, the video data and the features to determine an actual guest behavior of the guest. The platform may predict, using the second machine learning model, a predicted guest behavior of the guest based on the actual guest behavior. The behavior detection platform may determine that at least one of the actual guest behavior or the predicted guest behavior is not included in the set of normal guest behaviors. The platform may cause assistance to be provided to the guest based on determining that the actual guest behavior or the predicted guest behavior are not included.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2023Publication date: December 28, 2023Applicant: Disney Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Gregory Brooks HALE, Gary D. Patent number: 11520832Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide techniques for dynamic response management. Weather data for a geographic region is received, and a state of the geographic region is determined based on the weather data. A first predefined rule of a plurality of predefined rules is identified based on the determined state of the geographic region. A first role of a first user is determined. A first instruction is then generated for the first user based on the first predefined rule and the first role, where the first instruction comprises one or more actions. The first instruction is then transmitted to the first user.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2020Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: Disney Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Gregory Brooks Hale, David Benson Gilmore, II

Publication number: 20220384040Abstract: A system for performing machine language (ML) model based condition and property detection includes a computing platform having processing hardware and a system memory storing a software code that includes a trained ML model. The processing hardware is configured to execute the software code to receive a dataset, and perform an analysis of the dataset, using a first stage of the trained ML model, to detect a presence of a predetermined data attribute. The processing hardware is further configured to execute the software code to predict, using a second stage of the trained ML model when the analysis of the dataset detects the presence of the predetermined data attribute, a probability that the predetermined data attribute is indicative of a condition or a property.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2022Publication date: December 1, 2022Inventors: Keith Comito, Gregory Brooks Hale, Komath Naveen Kumar

Publication number: 20140062774Abstract: A computing device may rely on GPS and IR communication to determine its current location. The limits of GPS may prevent it from reliably providing location data to the computing device in a variety of situations such as in downtown metropolitan areas, geographic regions with thick canopies, in buildings, and the like. As a result, a second communication technique may also be used to provide location data to the computing device. For example, an IR transmitter may transmit location data to the computing device which, in turn, uses the location data to identify its current location. In addition, the computing device may receive or transmit supplemental data using the second communication technique for, e.g., synchronizing the computing device to a real-time event happening at the identified location or providing the location of the device to a central computing system.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2012Publication date: March 6, 2014Applicant: DISNEY ENTERPRISES, INC.Inventors: Gregory Brooks Hale, Gregory Gerard Johnson, Jeffrey R. Patent number: 7881713Abstract: The present invention provides for a system and method of wirelessly triggering portable devices to provide a user with audio and/or visual information related to a show or attraction, for example, or for the purposes of captioning, language translation, assistive listening, and descriptive audio. As a person moves about a venue, a portable device receives signals from transmitters at venue locations. Transmissions may be via infrared or radio signals. The receiving device decodes each signal as a venue location, event time, or device trigger. The receiving device processes the signal and its memory to start a presentation on the device. The portable device memory contains audio, text, graphics, and/or visual content; device playback may contain one or many of these stored contents. The stored content may be synchronized with the user's location, time of travel, time of day, time of a show, or an event in a show. Stored content may be in one or many languages.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2007Date of Patent: February 1, 2011Assignee: Disney Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Gregory Brooks Hale, Reynold Duane Green, Harold Andrew McLaughlin, William George Wiedefeld, Phu Van Nguyen
