Abstract: Various aspects disclosed relate to a catalyst particle for catalyzing the production of syngas from carbon dioxide and methane. The catalyst particle includes a metal oxide substrate. The substrate includes a particulate nickel phase. An exposed surface of the catalyst particle includes at least some of the particulate nickel phase. Additionally, the exposed surface is substantially nonporous.

Abstract: A terminal area noise management method includes receiving, at a processor, aircraft information for an aircraft operating in a region in proximity to an airport; accessing a plurality of terminal area flight paths available to the aircraft; estimating a plurality of noise profiles for the aircraft, one estimated noise profile for the aircraft for each of the plurality of flight paths; calculating a plurality of cumulative noise fairness measures using each estimated noise profile; calculating a plurality of operational efficiency values for the aircraft, one or more of the calculated operational efficiency values for the aircraft for each of the flight paths; calculating a plurality of cumulative operational fairness measures using each of the calculated operational efficiency values; and selecting a flight path for the aircraft based on maximizing a cumulative noise fairness measure and a cumulative operational fairness measure.

Abstract: A process wherein synthesis gas is reacted to produce desired products, such as alcohols, and wherein by-products, such as methane, are reformed to provide hydrogen and carbon monoxide that is recycled to the feed of synthesis gas. The process also may provide for the recycle of unreacted hydrogen and unreacted carbon monoxide to the feed of synthesis gas.

Abstract: A system for recycling vented atmosphere gas discharged from a heat treatment chamber utilizing a protective atmosphere gas therein. The system includes an atmosphere recycling apparatus configured to receive the vented atmosphere gas. The atmosphere recycling apparatus includes a gas separator configured to separate the vented atmosphere gas into a purified atmosphere gas stream and an impure stream. The atmosphere recycling apparatus is configured to feed the purified atmosphere gas stream to the heat treatment chamber. A storage vessel can be provided to receive the purified atmosphere gas stream from the atmosphere recycling apparatus, and configured to supplement an atmosphere gas supply to the heat treatment chamber with the purified atmosphere gas stream.

Abstract: The presence and amount of hydrogen peroxide in a liquid can be determined by breaking down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen gas. By monitoring a base level of dissolved oxygen and comparing that to the amount of oxygen after breaking down the hydrogen peroxide, one can determine the amount of hydrogen peroxide in the liquid flow.

Abstract: Methods of forming and/or filling recloseable bags are disclosed. In some embodiments, the methods include attaching a bag closure strip along one longitudinal edge of a length of bag film, and forming from the length of bag film, a bag having an open end, two broad, opposing faces and a flap. In certain embodiments, the flap is attached to an edge of one of the broad faces along the open end and extending between sealed edges of the bag.

When the closure is opened, a bag opening is formed between the expandable gusset and said one of the broad face panels of the bag, to access the bag contents. In one example, the bag has upper and lower expandable gussets, while in another the bag has expandable side gussets. The closure is readily closed without precise alignment and despite the adjacent gusset.

Abstract: A refrigerator includes a fresh food stirring fan assembly arranged within a fresh food compartment. The stirring fan assembly functions to recirculate air in order to minimize temperature stratification in the fresh food compartment. The stirring fan assembly preferably incorporates a filter to remove airborne debris and absorb odors. In accordance with one preferred embodiment of the invention, the fresh food stirring fan is operated whenever a damper controlling an inlet flow of cooling air to the fresh food compartment is in a closed position.

Abstract: A method of provisioning telecommunications service. A caller requesting service is connected to a switching system having prompting capabilities. The caller is prompted to enter a service type indicator selected from a brochure describing available service types. The service order request is automatically processed to determine whether the specified service is available to the caller and whether other data provided by the caller is consistent. Advantageously, a service order can be generated without requiring human intervention beyond the initial entry of data by the service requester. Advantageously, service request data can immediately be verified and data inconsistencies or incomplete data identified and requested of the caller immediately. Advantageously, errors in the process and the delay resulting from such errors are minimized.

Abstract: This invention relates to the use of a standard language and signal interface between a custom line card for connection to a corresponding arbitrary type terminal, and a switch. The line card is plugged into an interface unit which converts between the signals from the arbitrary type terminal and a standard set of signals for interfacing with the switch. The Bellcore TR303 standard is the preferred choice for communicating signals between the interface unit and the switch. The term terminal as used herein is very general and includes both simple (analog) and complex (video) telephone devices, as well as other types of customer premises equipment such as FAX terminals; it includes, for example a TV set-top box. Advantageously, only a small signal conversion program and table, and an interface card, need be developed in order to support a new type of terminal.
