  • Publication number: 20240045647
Abstract: Controlling the output of audio based on the mode of an electronic device having a sound mode, silent mode, and mute mode, along different audio output routes. In the sound mode, all audio can be output, while only registered or authorized audio can be output in the silent mode. In the mute mode, no audio can be output. The sound and silent modes can be enabled using an interface of the device, while the mute mode can be enabled using an accessory coupled to the device. To disengage the mute mode, a user can provide a corresponding instruction using the accessory or providing an instruction on the device related to volume control. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 11775252
Abstract: This is directed to controlling the output of audio based on the mode of an electronic device. In particular, this is directed to an electronic device having a sound mode, silent mode, and mute mode controlling the output of audio along different audio output routes. In the sound mode, all audio can be output, while only registered or authorized audio can be output in the silent mode. In the mute mode, no audio can be output. The sound and silent modes can be enabled using an interface of the device (e.g., a switch having two possible states), while the mute mode can be enabled using an accessory coupled to the device. To disengage the mute mode, a user can provide a corresponding instruction using the accessory, or providing an instruction on the device related to volume control. For example, a user can change the device volume using an on-device interface, or toggle a sound/silent switch to a sound mode.

  • Patent number: 10070273
Abstract: In order to flexibly manage and broadcast content to electronic devices in a multicast group, a multicast group management protocol allows one or more multicast group masters to be specified. In addition to controlling membership in the multicast group, a multicast group master can define or specify a multicast session, in which content from one or more sources is broadcast to at least a subset of the electronic devices or sinks in the multicast group. The multicast group management protocol supports concurrent broadcasts of content to different multicast sessions. Moreover, the broadcasts in the different multicast sessions may have different: priorities, encoding techniques, quality-of-service policies, reliability, and/or number of parity bits. For example, the different encoding techniques may include different layers in H.264 Scalable Video Coding. Alternatively or additionally, the different number of parity bits may be associated with application layer forward error correction.

  • Patent number: 7222581
Abstract: A transition device for providing a smooth corner of a pair of angular oriented interconnected windshields on a boat, the boat having a forward facing or front windshield and a side facing windshield, both the windshields being mounted in a formed aluminum molding. The transition device comprises a first element attached to the molding of the forward facing windshield at an upper end of the joint and terminating at the joint in a ball and a second element attached to the molding of the side facing windshield at the upper end of the joint and terminating in a socket. The ball and the socket are shaped and sized to fit together to form a smooth transition at the upper end of the joint so that the corner joint appears to have a ball and socket joint.

  • Publication number: 20060005672
Abstract: Blades, saws, and methods for cutting microfeature workpieces are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a saw includes a shaft for attachment to a spindle, an annular blade coupled to the shaft, and a support member coupled to the shaft and juxtaposed to the annular blade. The blade has a first thickness at a first diameter and a second thickness at a second diameter. The second thickness is different than the first thickness and sized to cut the microfeature workpiece. For example, the first thickness can be greater than the second thickness, and the second diameter can be greater than the first diameter.

  • Publication number: 20050245725
Abstract: The present invention relates to the reduction of oligomer content of melt-processible fluoropolymer so that the fluoropolymer has at least 25 ppm less oligomer than the as-polymerized fluoropolymer, the reduction being obtained by melting the fluoropolymer forming a surface of molten fluoropolymer and regenerating this surface, contacting the regenerating surface with inert gas, and devolatilizing the resultant molten fluoropolymer.
