    Abstract: A method of managing scientific research includes receiving first protocol information from a first user, where the first protocol information specifies a scientific method. The first protocol information is stored in a scientific knowledge database. A request is accepted from a second user for the first protocol information. The first protocol information is transmitted to the second user. Modified first protocol information is obtained from the second user. The modified first protocol information is incorporated into the scientific knowledge database as second protocol information.
