  • Patent number: 8305602
Abstract: A method for managing printer settings is described. Physical printers in electronic communication with a network are discovered. • Patent number: 7453603
Abstract: A method for context-based processing of print data is provided. The method includes partitioning a document to be printed into a plurality of regions of interest. The method also includes determining context data for a first region of interest of the plurality of regions of interest. The context data may include information about how first print data corresponding to the first region of interest should be processed. The method also includes using the context data to process the first print data.

  • Patent number: 6943914
Abstract: A computer is provided, along with a printer and software. The software causes the computer to change control settings of a printer's marking device while printing on a single page. The computer prepares raster data blocks (RDB) of data for printing a single page. In addition, there are included interspersed raster control block (RCB) data for adjusting the settings of the marking device while printing on the page. While the RCB data is preferably presented between RDB data of different scan lines, the RCB data blocks can change the settings even when printing along a single scan line.

  • Publication number: 20040057072
Abstract: A web-based network system and methodology involving the full pre-configuring and making available for downloading and installation of appropriate printer-drivers for plural network-available printing devices extant in a web-based network system. Drivers are either pre-configured and readied for delivery at a point in time well in advance of a user's call for the downloading and installation of a printer-device driver, or such drivers are pre-configured effectively as a consequence of a user call for downloading and installation, and at a moment in time which is just immediately prior to downloading-delivery and installation.
