  • Patent number: 7075539
Abstract: A computing system has a graphics processor, a graphics memory, main memory, a bridge, and a central processing unit configured to process floating-point data of a first fixed size. An interconnect grid includes communication paths to link the graphics processor, the graphics memory, main memory, the bridge, and the central processing unit. A computing system component (e.g., the graphics processor or central processing unit) converts floating-point data to graphics floating-point data with a fixed size smaller than the fixed size of the floating-point data. The computing system passes the floating-point data and/or the graphics floating-point data over at least a portion of the interconnect grid. Alternately, the graphics processor may directly read and process previously compressed and stored graphics floating-point data.

  • Publication number: 20050241091
Abstract: The present invention provides a dental device preferably for infants and small children. A dental device in accordance with the present invention includes a handle portion and a head portion joined by a joinder. The head portion includes a plurality of projections and a plurality of bristle bunches. In one embodiment, the plurality of projections encircle a core in an about 190 to about 280 degree circumference and the plurality of bristle bunches encircle a core in an about 190 to about 80 degree circumference. In another embodiment, the plurality of projections encircle a core in a plurality of alternating segments interspaced with the plurality of bristle bunches. The plurality of projections can include, but are not limited to a plurality of raised wave-shaped projections, a plurality of circular disks, a plurality of circular grooves, a plurality of ribs, a plurality of spikes and combinations thereof.

  • Publication number: 20050244267
Abstract: Arcuate seal layers conforming with one another are disposed between inner retainer segments and inner rails of nozzle segments of a gas turbine. The layers are secured to the aft axial face of the segments and project radially outwardly to seal against the forward axial faces of the rails. The rear axial faces of the rails have chordal seals for sealing against the forward axial faces of the support rings. The seal layers have radial cuts misaligned with one another in an axial direction to preclude leakage flows through gaps formed by the cuts. Arcuate spacers are staggered circumferentially with the arcuate retainer segments whereby an intermediate pressure plenum is formed between the finger seals and chordal seals.

  • Publication number: 20050126111
Abstract: Method for securing a foundation form disposed on a moisture barrier membrane. The method can include penetrating the moisture barrier membrane with one end of a stake, sealing a breach in the moisture barrier membrane around a periphery of the stake caused by the penetrating step; and removing a portion of the stake extending above the moisture barrier membrane. A sealing member can be disposed on the stake at a location along an axial length of the stake.

  • Publication number: 20050126108
Abstract: Method and apparatus for securing a building foundation form disposed on a moisture barrier membrane. The method includes the steps of positioning one end of a concrete form stake in a mating structure of a plug, penetrating the moisture barrier membrane with a tip end the plug, and forming a seal between a flange extending around a periphery of the plug and the moisture barrier membrane.

  • Publication number: 20050027489
Abstract: There is provided a method for phase extraction between coupled atom interferometers using ellipse-specific fitting. The method includes fitting an ellipse to data representing a first gravimeter measurement and a second gravimeter measurement, and determining a phase shift between the first gravimeter measurement and the second gravimeter measurement based on a spread of the data around the ellipse.
