Abstract: A lift device includes a lift apparatus, a base assembly, and a controller. The lift apparatus is configured to raise and lower a removable robotic implement assembly. The base assembly is configured to support the lift apparatus and a primary mover. The primary mover is configured to provide rotational motion to one or more wheels supported by the base to move the lift apparatus. The controller is in communication with the implement assembly and the lift apparatus. The controller is configured to adjust a position of the robotic implement assembly and the lift apparatus in response to receiving instructions to perform a task.

Abstract: An apparatus for forming selectively coated areas on a substrate comprises an extrudate remover configured to selectively remove coating from a selected portion of the substrate. A chuck is configured to secure the substrate. A coating die is arranged proximal the substrate and is in fluid communication with a source of fluid extrudate. During relative motion between the substrate and the coating die, fluid extrudate is deposited onto the substrate. A controller is configured to selectively control the relative motion between the substrate and coating remover, and to control operation of the extrudate remover. The invention also provides a method of forming selectively coated areas on a substrate comprising the steps of inducing relative movement between a coating dispenser and the substrate, applying fluid material from the coating dispenser onto the substrate during the relative movement, and selectively removing a portion of the applied fluid from the substrate.

The auxiliary interfaces may be easily added to the end device as a replaceable cover, such as a replaceable battery door. A signal path conducts signals to and from the replaceable cover. One auxiliary interface is a Bluetooth radio. Data integrity protocols may be selected to guarantee delivery and guarantee no duplicate deliveries. Host pairing algorithms may provide standard or strong pairing with a host computer. Ergonomic interface features allow a user to control and monitor the operation of the end device and the data link with minimal hardware cost and battery life impact. Host software programs provide data routing, automatic reestablishment of the data link, and other functions. The system is adaptable to a wide array of use environments through the selection of timer parameters in the end device.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to attributing light emissions to spots a light was scanned over. In aspects, the scanned light includes light capable of increasing light emissions from at least one type of matter. A detector detects emitted light that comes from spots the light was previously scanned over. Circuitry attributes emitted light with spots within the area. Data representing light that reflects from each spot may be combined with data representing light that emits (if any) from each spot to create an image. The emitted light may be assigned a false color in the image to distinguish it from reflected light in the image. Emitted light may occur as a result of fluorescent activity. Other aspects are described in the specification.

Abstract: A photo-detector circuit for barcode scanners, endoscopes, and the like, includes a large area PIN photo-diode and an amplifier. Adverse effects associated with a terminal capacitance from the large area PIN diode may be minimized by maintaining a relatively constant voltage across the input terminals of the amplifier. Noise levels may be minimized by the arrangement of the amplifier circuit and the large area PIN diode resulting in an increased signal-to-noise ratio and an increased gain-bandwidth product. Due to the large numerical aperture of the photo-detector, increased resolution and/or lower output power in a reflective imaging system may be obtained with relatively low cost components. Detection area of the large area PIN diode may be larger than approximately 25 mm2 when compared to typical PIN diodes used in photo-detector applications.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying a caller who does not provide caller identification on an unanswered call. The caller is asked to record his/her name (or some other characteristic utterance). If the call is unanswered, the record is retained and can be accessed by the called party when that party requests his/her stored voice mail. Advantageously, even on unanswered calls, the identity of the caller can be presented to the called party when that called party requests stored voice mail messages, even if the calling party has private service.

Abstract: A novel method for using product identifiers includes capturing a product identifier identifying a product, selecting one of a plurality of queries, transmitting the product identifier and the selected query to a data provider, and receiving a response to the selected query from the data provider. The method is performed on a personal data device (e.g., a camera phone, PDA, tablet PC et.), which includes a network interface, a scanner operative to capture the product identifier, a user interface operative to receive the query selection, and an application program interface operative to associate the product identifier and the selected query, transmit the product identifier and the selected query to the data provider via the network interface, and to receive the response to the identifier and query from the data provider via the network interface.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions and their use for removing coatings from a substrate. The present invention is directed to a composition comprising (a) surfactants, (b) a sequestrant, and (c) a plasticizer/solvent. The composition may also contain (d) a hydrolyzing agent, e.g., a strong base compound and other additives. The composition of the present invention is free of chlorinated solvents, environmentally safe and user-friendly. In one embodiment, the composition further comprises a hydrolyzing agent present in an amount sufficient to reduce at least one of mechanical strength and adhesion between the coating and the substrate. Another embodiment of the invention is a method for removing paint or a coating from a substrate comprising applying a paint or coating removing effective amount of a composition comprising the compositions described herein to the substrate.

Abstract: A system for dispensing and filtering fluid is disclosed, in which the fluid flow path is substantially vertical from the fluid inlet through fluid dispense. Substantially all wetted surfaces are Teflon® or some similar non-contaminating fluid, for applications such as cleanroom processes. A valve and a filter chamber are incorporated into a pump head to simplify the flow path and reduce potential contamination points. Preferred methods, and chips or other microelectronic devices fabricated from the apparatus or methods, are also disclosed.

Abstract: A resonant MEMS scanning system operates a MEMS scanner at its resonant frequency to maximize scan angle and minimize power consumption. A controller includes a phase locked loop, an amplitude servo control loop, and a resonant frequency servo control loop. A microprocessor controls the loops and provides override during conditions such as start-up. Resonant frequency is dynamically thermally trimmed, allowing the device to be operated at higher Q. The phase lock loop operates in a pre-lock condition to allow faster start-up. Resonant frequency is controlled open loop during idle and start-up. Drive voltage is set high during start-up to achieve a rapid rise in scan angle.
