  • Publication number: 20080001468
Abstract: A motorcycle wheel assembly comprises a wheel having opposite outer surfaces, and a pair of claddings covering the opposite surfaces to provide an aesthetic covering on both sides of the associated wheel assembly. The claddings cooperate and engage one another to securely attach to the associated wheel, to provide alignment therebetween, to provide a wheel assembly having the aesthetic appearance of a solid wheel and other aesthetic improvements.

  • Publication number: 20060261668
Abstract: A wheel cover assembly comprises a wheel cover that includes a body portion having an outer surface and an inner surface opposed across the body portion from the outer surface, and at least one elongated tubularly-shaped extension having a proximal portion connected to the body portion, and a distal portion extending in a direction away from the inner surface of the body portion. The wheel cover assembly also includes at least one connector member having a proximal end snappably coupled with the distal end of the extension of the wheel cover, and a distal end adapted to releasably couple with a vehicle wheel.

  • Publication number: 20050269863
Abstract: A wheel cover assembly includes a cover member having an inner surface, an outer surface, a body portion, and a skirt portion extending inwardly from and circumferentially about the body portion. The wheel cover assembly also includes at least one retention clip operably coupled with the cover member and having leg portion and an engagement portion extending outwardly from the leg portion, wherein the leg portion abuts the inner surface of the skirt portion along a length of the leg portion, and wherein the engagement portion is adapted to abut a lug nut of a wheel assembly, thereby releasably coupling the wheel cover assembly with the wheel assembly.

  • Publication number: 20050179312
Abstract: A wheel cladding assembly includes a wheel having a disk and a rim complementary to the disk, wherein the disk and the rim include and outer surface, and wherein the rim includes an outer edge extending circumferentially about the rim. The wheel assembly also includes a ring-shaped flange member, and a wheel cladding member having a central portion and an outer periphery complementary to the central portion, wherein the outer periphery includes a circumferentially-extending channel that receives the flange member therein. The channel member is operably coupled to the wheel such that the central portion of the cladding member is aligned with at least a portion of the disk of the wheel, the periphery of the cladding member is aligned with at least a portion of the rim of the wheel, and the channel of the wheel cladding is located substantially proximate the outer edge of the rim.

  • Publication number: 20050168053
Abstract: A wheel cover assembly comprises a wheel clad assembly that includes a body member having an outer surface and an inner surface opposed across the body member from the outer surface, and at least one elongated tubularly-shaped extension comprising a first material and having an inner surface, a proximal portion connected to the body portion, a distal portion extending in a direction away from the inner surface of the body portion, and at least one irregularity spaced along a length of the distal portion of the at least one extension. The wheel cover assembly further includes at least one tubularly-shaped insulating sleeve comprising a second material different from the first material and having an outer surface that abuts the inner surface of the at least one extension and includes an edge portion that closely receives the irregularity of the distal portion of the at least one extension therein, thereby preventing removal of the at least one sleeve from within the at least one extension in an axial direction.
