Publication number: 20230329580Abstract: The systems and methods provide for novel a triggering mode that allows the patient to trigger or initiate the delivery of a breath during ventilation on a ventilator. Further, the systems and methods provide for triggering ventilation utilizing a statistical trigger mode. Additionally, the systems and methods provide for analyzing and/or displaying information related to a potential change in a triggering threshold for a currently utilized breath type.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2023Publication date: October 19, 2023Applicant: Covidien LPInventors: Gregory J. Publication number: 20220226131Abstract: Multi-axial prosthesis assemblies that include a resilient closed undulating member are used to provide vertical and rotational movement for lower limb prostheses. A shaft is located through a resilient bumper, with a first prosthetic member is fixedly attached to the shaft and engages a first surface of the undulating member, and a second prosthetic member comprises a lumen to movably receive the shaft. The prosthetic members are engaged to the resilient bumper with projections that are located in the recesses of the resilient bumper and the prosthetic members and the bumper are configured so that the projections from each member are offset from the projections of the other member, which results in an undulating appearance to the outer surface of the resilient bumper.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2022Publication date: July 21, 2022Inventors: Steven D. Liddiard, Shelly Barlow, Dennis K. Tangreen, Steven J. Heath, Gregory J. Glenn

Publication number: 20220031992Abstract: The present invention relates to oxygen sensors for medical ventilators. A medical ventilator includes a patient circuit delivering inspiratory airflow to a patient and returning expiratory airflow from the patient back to the ventilator. A manifold includes an air flow path into the patient circuit, and a port with an opening for an oxygen sensor. When mated to the port, the oxygen sensor samples the air in the air flow path and detects the amount of oxygen in the air. When the oxygen sensor is inserted into the port, a valve is biased open, to allow airflow through the opening into the oxygen sensor during ventilation. When the oxygen sensor is removed from the port, the valve biases into a closed position covering the opening, to prevent leaks. The ventilator can then continue to operate without the oxygen sensor in place.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2021Publication date: February 3, 2022Applicant: Covidien LPInventors: Gregory J. Glenn, Jose J. Aguirre, Matthew Tyson Grant
