  • Patent number: 11893658
Abstract: An augmented virtual vehicle testing system and method for presenting graphics to a vehicle operator during operation of a vehicle. The method includes: determining a position of a vehicle operator within a vehicle testing environment; executing an augmentative simulation of the vehicle testing environment, wherein the augmentative simulation is used to provide a position of one or more virtual objects within the vehicle testing environment; generating graphics representing the one or more virtual objects based on the position of the vehicle operator and the position of the one or more virtual objects within the vehicle testing environment; and presenting the graphics on an electronic display and to the vehicle operator during operation of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20230056419
Abstract: A lidar trigger device and method of operating a lidar trigger device that includes: a controller having a processor and memory, the memory storing computer instructions; a wireless communications device; a lidar unit having a light emitter and light detector; an electronic display; and a housing that surrounds the controller, the wireless communications device, the lidar unit, and the electronic display. When the computer instructions are executed by the processor, the lidar trigger device is configured to: cause light to be transmitted from the light emitter of the lidar unit; cause reflected light that is received at the light detector to be processed; determine whether the lidar unit was triggered based on processing of the reflected light; in response to determining that the lidar unit was triggered, generate a trigger reporting message; and send the trigger reporting message to a remote device via the wireless communications device.

  • Publication number: 20230038486
Abstract: A test facility infrastructure control system and method for controlling test environment devices located at a test facility, including: at least one test facility control server that is communicatively coupled to a test facility gateway server that is configured to receive a test configuration to be used in carrying out vehicle testing at the test facility; test environment devices located at the test facility; and one or more test environment controllers; wherein the at least one test facility control server is configured to: receive a test environment control request from the test facility gateway server that specifies one or more test environment devices and includes test environment control instructions that specify a test operation or state of the specified test environment device(s); and send a test environment control message to a selected test environment controller, which causes the specified test environment device to operate according to the test configuration.

  • Publication number: 20220260375
Abstract: A sensor package and associated method provides roadside sensor-based data. The sensor package includes a controller, a network access device for remote communications, GNSS receiver, an inertial measurement unit (IMU), and environment sensors. The controller operates under software control and communicates with the other sensor package devices to: collect environment sensor data using the sensors; receive GNSS signals indicating current sensor package location; obtain IMU data; determine position/orientation data that includes position data and orientation data based on the orientation data is based on the IMU data; and send the environment sensor data and the position/orientation data of the sensor package to an external device using the network access device. The environment sensor data includes at least one sensor data frame, and the sensor data frame is matched with position/orientation data based on a time associated with collecting the sensor data frame and the position/orientation data.

  • Patent number: 9576254
Abstract: A method of providing reservation status relating to a group of objects includes providing a database for containing (i) availability data describing availability of at least one of the group of objects, and (ii) reservation data describing allocation of at least one of the group of objects. The availability data and the reservation data are stored in sparse form. The method further includes extracting, from the database, availability data and reservation data corresponding to a predetermined period of time, and combining the extracted availability data and reservation data to form windowed data in a dense format. The method also includes receiving the windowed data and providing the windowed data in a bit-vector view, and sampling the windowed data in the bit-vector view to produce sampled data. The sampled data provides the reservation status as a static view of the windowed data in the bit-vector view.
