  • Publication number: 20230406614
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a bag of polymeric film and a method to make the bag. The bag can be comprised of a front panel and a rear panel. The front and rear panels can each be comprised of multiple layers of film. The bag can be formed from a collapsed bubble of polymeric film that has been folded in half so that opposing edges of the collapsed bubble form an opening of the bag. One of the layers of the folded bubble can be split adjacent to an edge of the collapsed bubble and a draw tape film can be inserted between the layers of the folded and collapsed bubble. The collapsed bubble can further be embossed by a pattern that can provide enhanced properties to bags formed from the folded bubble.

  • Patent number: 10723056
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus for forming a multi-layer web formed from at least two polymeric film tubes in intimate contact with each other but not bonded to each other. The apparatus includes the use of a blown film extrusion die that extrudes two separate blown film polymeric tubes via two separate annular die lips. A fluid cooling system applies cooling fluid across a plurality of surfaces of the two blown film tubes. One of the die lips may be at a different height from the other die lip. The frost line of one blown film tube may be at a different height from the other blown film tube.

  • Patent number: 7753666
Abstract: An apparatus and method for cooling a molten plastic film tube exiting the outlet of an extrusion die is disclosed. The apparatus includes an inlet passage adapted to direct cooling air through the extrusion die to the interior of the plastic film tube. The apparatus includes at least one air dispensing device coupled to the inlet passage. The air dispensing device is configured to receive the cooling air and to direct a flow of the cooling air out of the air dispensing device in an approximately circumferential or tangential direction. The circumferential or tangential flow of the inlet air inside the plastic film tube cools the molten tube while reducing impact on the molten tube.
