  • Patent number: 10716367
Abstract: A connector for a soft or flexible article, the connector including a male structure having a base and a projection, the projection defining a head and a stem connecting the head to the base, the male structure base defining at least one tag extending substantially perpendicular to the projection. The connector includes a carriage structure having a base which defines a socket arranged to receive the projection of the male structure, the carriage structure defining at least one tag extending substantially parallel to the socket. The connector also provides a guide structure which defines a guide cavity arranged to receive the male structure projection when the male structure projection is located within the socket of the carriage structure, the guide cavity defining an entry zone and a compression zone.

  • Patent number: 9228602
Abstract: Disclosed is a connector assembly, which includes a metal base which defines a housing cavity arranged to receive the end of a male connector, a resilient interface element inside the housing cavity, and a metal clip inside the housing cavity by the resilient interface element. The metal clip engages removably with the end of the male connector inserted into the housing cavity to connect the metal base to the male connector. Also disclosed is a resilient interface element providing an interface between a male connector and a metal base defining a housing cavity to receive the end of a male connector, as well as a kit of parts. Such kit contains a metal base defining a housing cavity receiving the end of a male connector, a metal clip arranged to be capable of engaging removably with the end of the end of the male connector, and a resilient interface element.

  • Patent number: 8689409
Abstract: A fastener for mounting a panel to a supporting structure includes a fastener part having a base with an upper and lower side. A connector is adapted to engage with another fastener part projecting from the upper side of the base. The lower side of the base is adapted to be adhesively connected to a substrate and incorporating a surface configuration that promotes a mechanical connection with an adhesive. The lower side surface configuration includes a protrusion extending from the base to a crown. The protrusion includes an undercut portion configured to form a mechanical connection with the adhesive. In use adhesive fills between the protrusions and forms a mechanical connection with the undercut portions when hardened.

  • Publication number: 20090271970
Abstract: A method of installing panels includes temporarily securing un-upholstered panels in place on an underlying support and marking the underlying support at each of a plurality of panel clip locations on the panel. The panel is removed from the support structure for upholstering. The support structure is drilled at the marks to provide a hole to receive a socket component, and a socket component is driven into each of the receiving holes in the support structure. The socket component includes a cup open to at least one end, an external thread for engaging the support structure, and a constriction in the cup spaced away from the bottom of the cup. A plug component is secured at each of the panel clip locations on the panel, the plug component having a protruding portion to engage in the socket. The upholstered panel is lifted into position and the periphery is pressed into place to engage the protruding portions of the plug components within the cups of the sockets.
