  • Publication number: 20230294829
Abstract: UAV configurations and battery augmentation for UAV internal combustion engines, and associated systems and methods are disclosed. A representative configuration includes a fuselage, first and second wings coupled to and pivotable relative to the fuselage, and a plurality of lift rotors carried by the fuselage. A representative battery augmentation arrangement includes a DC-powered motor, an electronic speed controller, and a genset subsystem coupled to the electronic speed controller. The genset subsystem can include a battery set, an alternator, and a motor-gen controller having a phase control circuit configurable to rectify multiphase AC output from the alternator to produce rectified DC feed to the DC-powered motor. • Patent number: 7456832
Abstract: This invention provides a tool for presenting items for selection by a user of a data processing system and for executing the selected items. Each item of the menus and dialogues is an individual and independent object in an object database, referred to as an interface object. These objects can be added or deleted independent of each other, allowing greater extendability and customization of the interface. The data within each of the interface objects and the selections from a user determine which of the interface objects will make up any one of several logical frame presentations at any one time to be presented to a user. The interface tool of this invention is adaptable for use with any one of a plurality of graphic libraries for presenting the actual screen image of the logical frame presentation to the user. In addition, the interface tool utilizes the message facilities of the system to present the elements of the interface in multiple languages.

  • Publication number: 20040022356
Abstract: A three-dimensional, real-time, multi-phenomenology data reconstruction and fusion system and method are described for scanning bags, luggage, and the like. The approach blends 3D computed topography with other sensing modalities such as magnetic resonance and an embedded decision-directed data reconstruction/exploitation structure to ensure high performance and real-time operation. A 2D array architecture provides sets of 2D projections immediately, which can be exploited as a precursor to a full 3D data reconstruction and exploitation to enhance system speed. Various processing algorithms to determine object type and next best view or reconstructed slice for fast operation at high classification rates; to provide significantly enhanced impulse response performance, such that subtle details are not obscured by bright scattering objects; and to exploit both the multi-modality data and exploited entities for explosive detection, for example.
