  • Patent number: 12680514
Abstract: An aircraft propulsion system includes a dual exhaust path assembly that includes actuatable blocker doors moveable between a bypass configuration for directing the exhaust gas flow through an outer passage and a heat exchange configuration for directing the exhaust gas flow through a heat exchanger assembly.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2025
Date of Patent: July 14, 2026
    Assignee: RTX CORPORATION
Inventors: Gregory M. Chere, Simon W. Evans, Jesse M. Chandler
  • Patent number: 12680739
Abstract: An apparatus includes a cryo-fuel tank, at least two heat exchangers, at least one valve, and a condenser. The cryo-fuel tank is configured to store cryo-fuel. The at least two heat exchangers are configured to reduce heat of a core flow through an engine, where the at least two heat exchangers have different heat transfer efficiencies. The at least one valve is configured to control the core flow between each of the at least two heat exchangers. The condenser is configured to exchange heat between the cryo-fuel and the core flow processed through the at least two heat exchangers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 2024
Date of Patent: July 14, 2026
    Assignee: RTX Corporation
    Inventor: Gregory M. Chere
  • Patent number: 12638179
Abstract: An aircraft propulsion system includes a core engine and a heat exchanger assembly that is operable in a heat exchanger configuration where the exhaust gas flow is in thermal communication with a working fluid flow and a bypass configuration where the exhaust gas flow passes through the heat exchanger assembly without thermal communication with the working fluid flow.

  • Publication number: 20260002468
Abstract: An aircraft propulsion system includes an exhaust duct that defines a flow path for the exhaust gas flow to a condenser assembly, and an evaporator system where heat from the exhaust gas flow is used to transform water from the condenser assembly into a steam flow for injection into the core engine. The evaporator system includes at least one heat exchanger stage that is mounted to the fan case and is in communication with the exhaust gas flow routed through the exhaust duct.
