  • Publication number: 20230097442
Abstract: Interventional procedures on the carotid arteries are performed through a transcervical access while retrograde blood flow is established from the internal carotid artery to a venous or external location. A system for use in accessing and treating a carotid artery includes an arterial access device, a shunt fluidly connected to the arterial access device, and a flow control assembly coupled to the shunt and adapted to regulate blood flow through the shunt between at least a first blood flow state and at least a second blood flow state. The flow control assembly includes one or more components that interact with the blood flow through the shunt.

  • Publication number: 20230001161
Abstract: An interventional catheter is adapted for treating a blood vessel. In an embodiment, the catheter includes an elongate shaft sized for insertion in a blood vessel and a stent positioned on a distal region of the elongate shaft. An expandable dilation member is coupled to a distal region of the elongate shaft. The expandable dilation member is adapted to expand outward. • Publication number: 20220331103
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve system includes a collapsible and expandable outer frame extending from an atrial end to a ventricular end, the atrial and ventricular ends coupled by a central portion, the outer frame including a plurality of suture receiving rings formed around a circumference of the ventricular end. The system further includes a collapsible and expandable inner frame positioned radially inward of and coupled to the outer frame. The system further includes a prosthetic valve assembly coupled to, and positioned radially inward of, the inner frame, and a strand extending from a first free end to a second free end. A middle portion of the strand passes through each of the suture receiving rings in a delivery configuration of the prosthetic heart valve system. The first and second free ends are configured to be pulled simultaneously by a user to radially collapse the ventricular end of the outer frame.

  • Patent number: 11389155
Abstract: A suture-based vessel closure device can perform the dilation of an arteriotomy puncture and does not require previous dilation of the arteriotomy puncture by a separate device or by a procedural sheath dilator. The suture-based vessel closure device can place one or more sutures across the vessel access site such that, when the suture ends are tied off after sheath removal, the stitch or stitches provide hemostasis to the access site.

  • Publication number: 20210338425
Abstract: A catheter assembly for delivering a medical implant may include an inner shaft around which a compartment is defined, the compartment being adapted to receive the medical implant therein. The catheter assembly may include an outer shaft coaxially surrounding at least a portion of the inner shaft and movable in longitudinal directions relative to the inner shaft. The outer shaft may define a lumen therein, the inner shaft and the outer shaft together defining a space therebetween, the space providing liquid communication between a proximal end of the catheter assembly and the compartment. The catheter assembly may include a distal sheath fixedly connected to the outer shaft, the distal sheath being movable between a closed condition covering the compartment and an open condition uncovering the compartment for deployment of the medical implant. A lubricant containing albumin may be disposed within at least a portion of the space.
