Publication number: 20060082057Abstract: Gaming apparatus has rotatable disks turning about a common axis of rotation and having annular bands of indicia of different diameters on faces of the disks which extend toward the axis of rotation. A player's winnings are determined by alignment of particular indicia along one or more radii of the disks after a period of rotation. In one form of the invention, the disks are supported, driven and held in a centered relationship with the axis of rotation by gear sets situated at angular intervals around the periphery of the disks which engage gear teeth at the rims of the disks. In another form, the disks are axially spaced apart flat plates of progressively greater diameter extending from drive shafting at the axis of rotation. In another form, the disks are at least partially formed of transparent material enabling viewing of indicia on disks which are behind other disks.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2005Publication date: April 20, 2006Applicant: IGTInventors: Robert Luciano, Alex Malavazos, Gregory Malavazos, Constantine Malavazos

Patent number: 6279905Abstract: A horizontal playing field board along which players propel play pieces has end zones at which the pieces may come to rest. Air outflow through an array of apertures in the board levitates the play pieces except at the end zone that is opposite from the players. This substantially eliminates friction except at the end zone where the pieces come to rest. Following insertion of payment in commercial versions of the game, the air blower shuts down when a player attains a maximum score or after elapse of a predetermined time period regardless of the player's scores. The board is light transmissive enabling illumination from underneath. Markings at each end zone which identify areas of different score value are changeable images produced by electronic display screens. This enables player selection of any of a plurality of different games having different marking patterns.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 1999Date of Patent: August 28, 2001Inventors: Alex J. Patent number: 5553851Abstract: Gaming apparatus in which a ball is traveled onto a revolving surface has a plurality of rings of differing diameters which jointly form the revolving surface. The rings are centered on a vertical axis of rotation and may rotate in opposite directions or in the same direction at different speeds. The rings have winning apertures and losing apertures through which a rolling ball may drop through the ring. The rings, other than the final ring along the path of travel of the ball, also have pass zones at which a ball may roll on to the next ring without dropping into an aperture. Progressively higher score values may be assigned to the winning apertures of the successive rings along the path of ball travel. In the preferred form, the apparatus includes a ball launcher and detectors for counting balls which drop through winning apertures.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1995Date of Patent: September 10, 1996Assignee: Quick Silver Development Co., Inc.Inventors: Alex Malavazos, Gregory Malavazos, Constantine Malavazos

Patent number: 5275402Abstract: A moving coin pusher on a game board revolves in a pattern of movement which causes it to approach and retreat from the edges of the board in a cyclical manner. Players drop coins on to the board, preferably in an upright rolling orientation, through a coin chute which may be swivelable to enable aiming of the coins. Players score when coins drop off of an edge of the board or through one or more holes in the board. The holes, which may have different scoring values, are preferably at locations which are covered and uncovered in a cyclical manner by the revolving coin pusher.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1993Date of Patent: January 4, 1994Inventors: Alex Malavazos, Gregory Malavazos, Constantine Malavazos

Patent number: 5213325Abstract: An amusement device has a housing with a chamber in which a game board is disposed. A player endeavors to guide a rolling ball on the board by manipulating a control lever to tilt the board in any selected direction. The board is supported by a tiltable shaft which is below the center of the board. A rigid link extends between the shaft and control lever and is connected to each by pivot couplings which constrain the shaft and board to tilt in synchronism with the lever. Compression springs in coaxial relationship with the shaft and control lever act to bias the board towards a horizontal orientation and the shaft and lever supports prevent rotational motion of such components about their own longitudinal axes. In a preferred embodiment, the board has openings through which the ball may drop and ball retrieval components detect the particular region of the board at which the ball was dropped and return the ball to the board.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1991Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Inventors: Alex Malavazos, Gregory Malavazos, Constantine Malavazos

Patent number: 4744566Abstract: A coin projecting game apparatus includes a transparent display housing having a rotating target carousel disposed therein. A plurality of player positions are spaced about the display housing, with non-player areas interposed therebetween. Each player position includes a coin projecting device which shoots a coin provided by the player toward the target carousel. The target carousel includes a plurality of annular shelves of decreasing diameter with increasing height, and upwardly extending target panels in regular polygon array separating adjacent shelves, the target panels rotating as a unit. Each target panel is provided with at least one jackpot opening dimensioned to receive a coin projected thereat. Within the carousel, a plurality of annular coin diverter slots are disposed in non-rotating fashion in confronting relation to each player position.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1986Date of Patent: May 17, 1988Inventors: Gregory A. Patent number: 3949203Abstract: This invention relates to a selection mechanism for a postage meter in which a single Thomas-type mutilated drum actuator is rigidly mounted on a hollow cylindrical drive shaft on which is also mounted the postage meter printing head, and comprises a series of selection bars lying longitudinally of the drive shaft and angularly therearound, each of which bars is set by a suitable manual positioning means, such as a selection wheel, each such bar carrying a yoke to position a driven gear of a first register to be driven by the actuator, a like series of auxiliary setting bars, each of which is rigidly yoked to the respective first setting bar and which carries a yoke for setting a register drive gear of another register of a postage meter. The main setting bar, at its forward end, is provided with gear teeth which drive a gear train that meshes with a rack carried by the actuator drive shaft to set the mechanism in the print wheel.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1974Date of Patent: April 6, 1976Assignee: A J M Research CorporationInventors: Arthur J.
