  • Patent number: 11603666
Abstract: A sheathed building uses corrugated hat-channel furring channels to attach metal panels to an underlying wall structure in a semi-floating manner. The corrugated furring channels are attached to backsides of the metal panels using high-bond-strength tape, and the corrugated furring channels are “hooked” onto corrugated flanges of rail brackets that have been attached to the wall structure to secure the metal panels to the building. Using tape instead of conventional fasteners (e.g., screws or nails) reduces penetrations through the panels and reduces moisture behind the panels. The corrugations facilitate drainage of moisture from behind the panels and drying air circulation. In other embodiments such as a clapboard arrangement of metal panels, rail brackets are not used, and the corrugated furring channels are used to mount the panels in overlapping fashion with no fasteners penetrating through the panels.

  • Publication number: 20120297696
Abstract: A gutter protection system provides a channel that serves multiple purposes. It encloses a water tube and sprayer device that cleans out the channel and the top of the gutter while flushing the gutter at the same time by moving a water tube that has a sprayer located along or at least one point of the water tube that when moved back and forth will clear the channel of debris and sediment or mud that typically forms inside a gutter.

  • Publication number: 20090025327
Abstract: A furring strip system with built-in alignment and airspace between interior and exterior walls for ventilation and rainscreen protection. A wall grid system speeds installation. The furring strip system has application to installation of drywall panels, deck applications, and floor applications. The system allows release of moisture from wood and wood plastic composite (WPC) decking via a space between boards. The invention further has application to roof installations with cross bars as well as different types of roofing, and ceiling applications.

  • Patent number: 6725618
Abstract: A siding attachment strip and method are provided for retaining a plurality of siding panels to a building structure. The siding attachment strip includes an elongate body, one or more mounting holes, and a plurality of siding top edge clips spaced along the elongate body according to a predetermined siding panel size. A siding top edge clip of the plurality of siding top edge clips is capable of engaging a nailing slot in a siding panel. The siding top edge clip includes a plurality of prongs extending therefrom. A prong of the plurality of prongs includes a substantially right-angled bend in a middle region of the prong. The siding attachment strip further includes a plurality of prong slots formed in the elongate body and spaced from and corresponding to the plurality of siding top edge clips.

  • Patent number: 6701674
Abstract: A gutter protection system and method of installation is provided. In a first aspect, the gutter protection system includes a gutter cover having an upper portion and a lower portion, with the lower portion having a nose portion including a return portion that is bent downward and backward substantially toward a center region of the gutter to guide a water stream into the gutter, and a bracket for holding the gutter cover, with the bracket having a lower portion engaging the gutter and an upper portion extending above the gutter and engaging the lower portion of the gutter cover, wherein the bracket holds the gutter cover in position in relation to the gutter so that the upper portion of the gutter cover is positioned over a roof and the lower portion is positioned over the gutter at a predetermined angle.

  • Patent number: 6098344
Abstract: Disclosed is a gutter protection system (GPS) which serves to effect at least two water flow slowing direction reversals in use, and directs rain water into gutter systems (GS) that collect rain water at the lower edges of sloping building roofs, while preventing the accumulation of debris therein. In particular, mounting clip design (MCK) (MCR) (MCV) in combination with gutter protection system (GPS) design, featuring limited mounting clip (MCK) (MCR) (MCV) three-dimensional motion allowing, installation facilitating, hem section (HS) (HS') and projecting lip (C) (PLK') (PLR') (PLV') interconnection, are described.

  • Patent number: 5557891
Abstract: A gutter protection system for use in preventing debris, which flows off of a sloped building roof along with rain water, from entering a gutter system affixed to lower edges of the sloped building roof, is disclosed. The present invention effects at least two reversals of direction of flowing rain water entering thereonto prior to directing it into an underlying gutter system to which it is affixed. The present invention system also includes end caps, a diverter for use at converging roof locations, and optional mounting brackets. The present invention system is designed to be easy to install.
