    Abstract: A panelboard bus bar arrangement. The arrangement includes an insulating base pan which is supported upon a steel base pan. The arrangement also includes three bus bars positioned within the insulating base ban and arranged side-by-side in a parallel manner. The distance between the bus bars is maintained relatively small by using an insulating member which shields and insulates the bus bars from each other. The insulating member includes openings which expose only portions of the bus bars, and dividers which separate adjacent openings and increase the cross surface distance between the openings. By increasing the cross surface distance between openings, arcing is inhibited between the openings.

    Abstract: An extruded three-phase base pan for a load center has a central rail with a cross-sectional configuration in the form of a modified cross. The upper surface of each arm of the cross curves upward and away from the body of the cross. The bottom surface and top surface of each arm are joined by a U-shaped surface. The bottom of the base pan has ribs with integrally formed grooves.

    Abstract: A three-phase load center which has a base pan including a first and a second bus bar for a first and a second phase. The bus bars are positioned on the top surface of the base pan. A third bar for a third phase is positioned beneath the base pan such that the bus bar is in contact with the bottom surface of the base pan. An insulator is connected to the base pan such that the third bus bar lies between the base pan and the insulator. The base pan and the third bus bar are each provided with ribs and grooves. These ribs and grooves cooperate to form ventilation passageways.

    Abstract: A front panel assembly for an electrical panelboard or the like. An interior trim panel is fastened within the enclosure proper, having holes through which circuit breakers may protrude and having upstanding edge flanges. A panelfront assembly includes a number of rotatable camming latches for engaging the edges of the flanges. The latches are secured in place with threaded screws extending through rabbets which are concealed by the door of the panelfront.
