  • Publication number: 20220144458
Abstract: A space habitat includes a water processing assembly including a wastewater tank and a water processing section connected to the wastewater tank. The water processing section includes a pump to urge flow of the wastewater, a mostly liquid separator to separate gas from liquid in the wastewater, a catalytic reactor located downstream of the mostly liquid separator, and one or more sensors located downstream of the catalytic reactor to determine if the wastewater is sufficiently processed. A valve directs the wastewater to a water storage tank if the sensors determine that the wastewater is sufficiently processed, and direct the wastewater to the wastewater tank if the one or more sensors determine that the wastewater is not sufficiently processed. The space habitat further includes one or more of a carbon dioxide removal system, a trace contaminant removal system, a temperature and humidity control system or a waste collection system.

  • Patent number: 5425813
Abstract: A web cleaning apparatus and method for cleaning the surface of a web (22), for example a photographic film. The apparatus has a rotatable particle transfer roller (10) for removing particulate contamination from the web and a rotatable renewal roller (30) having a cleaning surface (36) for contacting and cleaning the particle transfer roller. Wiping contact is established between the particle transfer roller and the renewal roller to effectuate cleaning of the transfer roller. An absorbent cleaning member (46) is positioned in a cleaning fluid reservoir (32) for wetting and cleaning the cleaning surface of the renewal roller.

  • Patent number: 5147545
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a housing for a disk of filter material. The housing includes two disk-shaped parts. One of the housing parts includes a radially-inwardly facing cylindrical surface for locating a filter disk. The other housing part includes a radially-outwardly facing cylindrical surface. The two cylindrical surfaces telescope together during assembly and serve to locate the housing parts relative to one another in directions parallel to the general plane of a filter disk in the housing. The radially inwardly facing cylindrical surface serves to locate a filter disk during assemble. Radially inwardly of the cylindrical surfaces is resilient means for engaging and squeezing the annular peripheral margin of the filter disk for at least partially preventing material being filtered passing radially outwardly of the filter disk and for totally preventing material bypassing the filter disk.
