  • Publication number: 20170359066
Abstract: A self-powered switching device is provided. In embodiments, the device uses a prestressed flextensional electroactive member to generate a signal for activation of a latching relay. The electroactive member has a piezoelectric element with a convex face and a concave face that may be compressed to generate an electrical pulse. The flextensional electroactive member and associated signal generation circuitry can be hardwired directly to the latching relay or may be coupled to a transmitter for sending an RF signal to a receiver which actuates the latching relay.

  • Patent number: 7721926
Abstract: A vehicle trim component that has a concealed storage compartment includes a mounting portion and a pair of generally parallel tracks that at least partially define an access opening of the trim component. A flexible lid slidably is disposed between the tracks for movement between a closed position and an open position relative to the access opening. The lid includes a flexible portion and a reinforcement portion coupled to the flexible portion. The flexible portion is configured and arranged to span the access opening when the lid is in the closed position. The reinforcement portion has an array of sliding members and an array of hard, rigid reinforcement inserts. Free ends of each of the reinforcement inserts are located in the tracks. The sliding members are disposed on each of the reinforcement inserts to isolate the reinforcement inserts from contacting the tracks.

  • Patent number: 7287795
Abstract: A vehicle storage structure includes parallel tracks having a resiliently deformable lid detent configured and arranged to move between a lid latching orientation and a lid releasing orientation. A lid includes track engaging portions disposed on lateral edges of the lid and extending into the tracks for selective sliding movement along the tracks between a closed position and an open position. The track engaging portions and the deformable lid detents are configured and arranged to normally restrict movement of the lid when in the closed position. The track engaging portions and the deformable lid detents are further configured and arranged to move the deformable lid detents from the lid latching orientation to the lid releasing orientation in response to contact pressure applied to the lid at an area adjacent to the deformable lid detents.
