  • Publication number: 20070269157
Abstract: The vehicle differential includes a housing (40) having at least one bearing seat (41) that is aligned along an axis. The housing also includes a counter bore having an internal thread. A bearing assembly (20) located in at least one bearing seat (41) supports a pinion shaft. The bearing assembly (20) comprises a bearing (38) and a lock member (62). The bearing (38) is located in at least one bearing seat (41) and around the pinion shaft. The bearing (38) includes an outer race (45), an inner race (46) and rolling elements (47). The outer race has a raceway (48) that is inclined with respect to the axis. The outer race (45) also has an external thread (49) on the narrow/thin section of the outer race, that is located around the outer race (45) and that is engaged with the internal thread (43) of the housing counter bore to set the bearing (38) along the axis.

  • Publication number: 20070257664
Abstract: A speed sensor for a wheel end that has an interior that is substantially isolated from an atmosphere around the wheel end. The speed sensor is carried by a housing of the wheel end for monitoring the rotation of the wheel end and indicating the angular velocity of the wheel end. The speed sensor includes a cable leading from the sensor to a location remote from the wheel end and further includes leads that transmit a signal and a sheath that encloses the leads. The sheath is open enough to allow a fluid to flow through its interior. A vent channel provides communication between the interior of the wheel end and the interior of the sheath on the cable.

  • Publication number: 20070228809
Abstract: A packaged bearing assembly for a full floating axle fits on the end of an axle tube where it serves to couple a road wheel to the axle. The bearing assembly includes a housing having external formations for mounting brake components. It also has a hub provided with a drive flange located beyond the outboard end of the housing and a spindle that projects into the housing. Finally, the bearing assembly also has an antifriction bearing located within the housing and around the spindle of the hub to enable the hub to rotate relative to the housing and axle tube. The drive flange of the hub provides a mounting for a road wheel. An axle shaft extends through the axle tube and through the hub and is removably connected to the hub, so that it can be withdrawn without elevating the road wheel off of its supporting surface.

  • Publication number: 20050008501
Abstract: A compressor assembly comprising a housing having a shaft bore therein, a main shaft positioned for rotation within the shaft bore, at least one roller thrust bearing and a thurst surface bearing clip. The thrust surface bearing clip comprises a first position configured for fixed engagement with the housing and a second portion extending from the first portion and configured for supporting a thurst surface in a position spaced from the rotating shaft, the thrust surface providing a bearing surface for the roller thrust bearing.

  • Patent number: 4057025
Abstract: An anchor davit for stowing an anchor generally horizontally when it is out of the water. A support roller extends between two frame portions, and an anchor receiving strap is mounted for movement about the said roller. An arm extends from inwardly of the said roller, where it is pivotally mounted to extend outwardly and above the open strap. A further roller is disposed on the outer end of the arm for receiving the anchor cable thereover. Both the strap and the arm are biased outwardly about their respective pivot axes.
