  • Patent number: 8311101
Abstract: An apparatus comprising an estimation circuit, a rate control circuit, a queue circuit, and an encoder circuit. The estimation circuit may be configured to generate a size value in response to an input signal comprising (i) a plurality of frames and (ii) a plurality of embedded subtitle elements. The rate control circuit may be configured to (i) generate a control signal, (ii) pass through the plurality of frames, (iii) present a first one or more of subtitle elements for current processing in response to the size value, and (iv) present a second one or more of subtitle elements for subsequent processing. The queue circuit may be configured to (i) receive the second one or more subtitle elements, (ii) present the second one or more of subtitle elements for current processing when the control signal is in a first state and (iii) hold a second one or more subtitle elements for subsequent processing when the control signal is in a second state.

  • Patent number: 8184660
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a first circuit and a second circuit. The first circuit may be configured to generate a multiplexed signal at a fixed frame-rate in response to a video input signal. The multiplexed signal comprises one of (i) a pre-defined packet which corresponds to a new frame rate detected on the video input signal when in a first mode (ii) repeated video frames at the fixed frame-rate when in a second mode and (iii) augmented digitally repeated frames at the fixed-rate when in a third mode. The second circuit may be configured to generate a video output signal in response to decoding (i) the multiplexed signal at the new frame rate defined by the pre-defined packet when in the first mode or (ii) the repeated video frames on the multiplexed signal at the fixed frame-rate when in the second mode.

  • Patent number: 7961792
Abstract: An apparatus having a first circuit, a second circuit and a third circuit. The first circuit may be configured to (i) demultiplex a multimedia stream having one or more video and audio streams and (ii) generate one or more video signals and one or more audio data signals in response to demultiplexing the multimedia stream. The multimedia stream may be independent of embedded time stamps. The second circuit may be configured to (i) decode the one or more video data signals and the one or more audio data signals and (ii) generate a video current time signal for each decoded video signal and an audio current time signal for each decoded audio signal. The third circuit may be configured to synchronize the playback of each decoded audio signal and each decoded video signal with the video current time signal and the audio current time signal.

  • Patent number: 7688333
Abstract: An apparatus including a first circuit, a second circuit and a third circuit. The first circuit may be configured to collect color statistics. The second circuit may be configured to sort colors based upon the color statistics collected by the first circuit. The third circuit may be configured to generate a mapping function between the sorted colors and a color space of a receiving standard.
