Abstract: A method and system for detecting granular data store changes in a computing environment. Data values stored in a first relational database are changed. Each data value is stored in a row and a column of the first relational database. Rows (i.e., changed rows) including the changed data values are identified. Changed rows are propagated to a second relational database. Columns including the changed data values are identified in the second relational database. The types of changes associated with the changed data values are identified. Filters optionally filter out one or more of the changed data values from further processing. At least one data value of the changed data values, along with their types of changes, are transformed into a language neutral format included in packaged data to be sent in response to a client requesting the at least one data value.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for implementing professional use of instant messaging. A flow of an IM conversation is displayed. Responsive to identifying a user selection to pair a response with a previous request, a user entered response and a user selected previous request are sent. Responsive to a user selection, a new topic is displayed in a new view and a new IM conversation is started. When an IM conversation is completed or a window is closed for the IM conversation; the IM conversation is automatically saved. Responsive to a user selection, another user is added to the IM conversation and a window including the flow of the IM conversation is displayed to the added user. An object can be linked to an IM conversation and the IM conversation is automatically saved with the selected object.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, system, and signal-bearing medium that in an embodiment detect that a connection is lost while a call is in progress, prompt for a message in response to the detection, and save the message until the connection is available. After the connection is available, the message is automatically sent to the party to the call. In this way, information that was cut off when the connection was lost can be completed in an convenient manner. In another embodiment, the user may enter a message or messages for a designated recipient or recipients at any time, and the message(s) is saved and automatically sent when the connection becomes available.

Abstract: A system configuration manager provides a graphical user interface that allows a system administrator to easily administer configuration settings for different computer systems and platforms on a computer network. The system configuration manager of the present invention allows identifying one system configuration or a settings profile as a “model system”. Once the model system is defined, other computer systems may be compared to the model system. Differences between the selected computer systems and the model system are then displayed, and the system configuration manager may be used to update the selected computer systems with configuration settings specified in the model system. Cross-platform support is provided by a configuration mapping mechanism that maps configuration information from one platform to corresponding configuration information for another platform.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of allowing medical practitioners to demonstrate the effects of a medical condition or a treatment to an individual. This is achieved by using a processing system to obtain image data in accordance with an input command received from the medical practitioner. The image data defines one or more images representing a medical condition or associated treatment, and these can be presented to the user on a display. Following this, annotations can be added to the displayed images, allowing the annotations to be used in explanation of a medical condition.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a vehicle chassis having a lower level, an intermediate level, and two lateral sides subject to static and dynamic loads. At least one lateral side comprises a reinforcing truss mounted between the lower and intermediate levels for supporting the static and dynamic loads. The truss includes an upper longitudinal beam mounted at the intermediate level of the chassis; a lower longitudinal beam mounted at the lower level, spaced from and parallel to the upper longitudinal beam; and at least two connecting members extending perpendicularly between the upper and lower longitudinal beams. The connecting members cooperate with the upper and lower beams to define at least one bay having an outline substantially in registry with the outline of the at least one storage compartment.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for synchronizing software between computers are disclosed. A software fix manager compares a preferred software inventory with a software inventory from a computer that is to be synchronized and, from this comparison, creates a number of software product synchronizations. An update manager uses the software fix list to apply software product synchronizations to the computer. Preferably, the computer can be brought to the same fix level or product level, if desired, as the preferred software inventory through this process. The software fix manager can place synchronizations in a fix list. There can be multiple software product synchronizations per software product, and the synchronizations can be applied to a computer by removing a software product fix or installing a product software fix. The current invention may also be applied to software products themselves, by installing or removing software products.

Abstract: An occupancy alarm system can be integrated into a motor vehicle or can be portable. The occupancy alarm system may be programmed to communicate with a program within a logic unit of the on-board computer within the vehicle or a cellular telephone or other wireless logic device so that if the driver's door is open and the engine is turned off but there still is an occupant in the motor vehicle, an alarm is immediately triggered. The GPS coordinates of the motor vehicle or the cellular telephone or other wireless device may be communicated to a remote location service or a local emergency center as part of the alarm. The occupancy sensor may be mounted on the occupant or on the restraint system, and may interact with an ambient temperature sensor and an alarm, both of which may be integrated into a motor vehicle, to indicate that a dangerous condition exists for an occupant within the motor vehicle.

The sensor includes a plate member adapted to be pivotally mounted, a first wire attachment point at one end of said plate member, a second wire attachment point remote from said first wire attachment point and a transducer or sensor element located on said plate member between the attachment points. The taut wire type detection system including at least one taut wire for a perimeter fence supported by a plurality of posts, at least one deflection sensor being pivotally mounted to one of the posts or a support thereon and a sensor processing circuit for interrogating the at least one deflection sensor and to provide an alarm indication on tampering of the at least one taut wire or the at least one deflection sensor.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for creating packages and for transferring packages between computer systems provides a graphical user interface that allows a user to define various attributes for a package. Logical packages may be defined, which specify package elements to include in the package. Physical packages may also be defined, which contain a copy of the package elements specified in the logical package. Once a user defines a logical package, the logical package may be transferred to an endpoint system. The endpoint system reads the logical package, and from the parameters in the logical package determines where to retrieve the package elements and what other actions are appropriate while retrieving the package elements and constructing a physical package. In this manner, the endpoint system retrieves the package elements as required. The preferred embodiment of the present invention defines a packager using an object oriented framework mechanism that defines both core and extensible functions.

Abstract: The present invention generally is a method of managing the process of a plurality of transactions through two or more applications in a business transaction environment. Each application has at least one associated log file. Each transaction is defined by one or more steps configured to complete the transaction. In one embodiment, for each new log entry recorded in the at least one associated log file, the method determines whether the new log entry comprises one or more required fields, e.g., a transaction identifier, a step identifier, or a time stamp. A set of information is extracted from the new log entry only if the new log entry comprises the one or more required fields. A database comprising a plurality of transaction records from the information is then created. The method then determines whether the plurality of transaction records meets a condition. An action is then executed if the plurality of transactions meets the condition.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a method, article of manufacture, and apparatus for simultaneously displaying on handheld display devices the top-level status of network objects such as network devices, systems, firmware, etc. In one embodiment, the user can drill-down from a top-level status to determine sub-status information for the monitored network objects. In another embodiment, the user can select the network objects to monitor and display summarized status information pertaining to the selected network objects.

Abstract: A system configuration manager provides a graphical user interface that allows a system administrator to easily administer configuration settings for different computer systems and platforms on a computer network. Abstract: A polypropylene closure arrangement for flexible packages comprises a blend having a polypropylene random copolymer as a base resin with a flexible modifier, and a slip component. The polypropylene closure arrangement 10, 110 is sufficiently flexible to be extruded and coiled around guide wheels similar to the fusion process of a polyethylene closure arrangement. The polypropylene closure arrangement in accordance with the present invention has the ability to be fusibly attached to a polypropylene film or other fusibly compatible thermoplastic material launch conditions.

Abstract: A syntax checker that simultaneously provides real-time feedback to the user regarding more than one syntactic requirement is disclosed. The syntax checker can be configured by the user to provide feedback about certain rules or rule sets and to omit feedback for other rules or rule sets. Also disclosed is a password validation mechanism that checks a submitted password string against the requirements of more than one password-protected resource and provides visual feedback to the user regarding success or failure. This visual feedback is provided using three different visual cues.
