  • Patent number: 11648099
Abstract: An actuator (12) for a personal care appliance (10) having an eccentric core (21) to preload the actuator (12) to prevent rattling caused by detrimental reactionary forces. The eccentric core (21) includes a pole assembly (24) radially extending from a spindle 22 having at least a first set (25-1) and a second set (25-2) of pole members. The first set (25-1) has a greater length as measured from the center of the spindle 22 than the second set (24-2), reducing the magnet gap on one side of the spindle (22) to create an eccentric core and preload the actuator (12). Alternatively, the preload can be mechanically created by a set of bearings (28) disposed within housing (18) of the actuator 12, where the bearings (28) have a centerline (A3) offset from the principal axis (A1) of the housing (18).

  • Publication number: 20220401317
Abstract: Provided is a multi-component system, and a method for preparing a hypochlorite composition with increased viscosity with a composition pH in the range of 7 to 12. For example, and preferably, the system and method may be used to provide a (hydro)gelled hypochlorite composition. The system or method makes use of a first quantity of a first component including hypochlorite or a source of hypochlorite at a pH in the range of 10 to 13.5 preferably 11 to 13.5 and a separate component including a pH induced thickening agent in “dry” form or in dissolved and/or dispersed form at a pH less than 7. The pH induced thickener is capable of increasing the viscosity of a composition upon subjecting it to an increasing pH such as in particular the composition pH in the range of 7 to 12. The pH induced thickener is thus for causing an increase of viscosity in the hypochlorite composition caused by the alkaline composition pH experienced by the pH induced thickener.

  • Publication number: 20220362115
Abstract: Provided is a kit or system (100) for preparing a peroxide composition with increased viscosity with a pH in the range of 7 to 12 in an almost instantaneous method. For example, the kit or system may be used to provide an almost instantly obtainable (hydro)gelled peroxide composition. The system comprises a first aqueous composition (102) comprising a peroxide agent. The first aqueous composition has a first pH of less than 7. The system further comprises a second composition (104) comprising a basic agent. The second composition is separate from the first aqueous composition. A pH induced thickener is included in the kit or system separate from the second composition. The peroxide composition is obtainable by combining the parts of the kit or system. The pH induced thickener is capable of increasing the viscosity of the peroxide composition upon subjecting it to the pH in the range of 7 to 12. The kit or system has sufficient basic agent for the peroxide composition to cause the pH in the range of 7 to 12.

  • Patent number: 10642948
Abstract: The appliance includes a jet source of fluid, and a nozzle assembly through which the fluid is directed and then out for application to the teeth. A flow interrupter assembly is mounted within the nozzle assembly, such that the interrupter assembly is responsive to the fluid flow to produce momentary successive interruptions of the fluid flow by the action of the interrupter assembly moving from an original position to a flow interrupting position and then returning to its original position as the flow decreases and then is interrupted, due to the fluid flow itself, resulting in a cyclical perturbation in the fluid flow from the nozzle, by flow action alone.
