  • Patent number: 9432928
Abstract: A method and corresponding apparatus and system for base station implemented access control based on public land mobile network (PLMN) identity. When a base station receives a request to serve a mobile terminal, the base station will determine the mobile terminal's PLMNid and will decide based on that PLMNid whether to permit or deny the request for service. If the base station thereby decides to permit the request for service, then the base station may process the request in a normal manner. Whereas, if the base station thereby decides to deny the request for service, then the base station may reject the request outright.

  • Patent number: 8261749
Abstract: A method for corrective surgery in a human subject of a vocal cord defect amenable to rectification by the augmentation of tissue subadjacent to the vocal cord defect, the method comprising: injecting an effective amount of autologous in vitro cultured fibroblast cells into the lamina propia, Reinke's space, the lateral tissue or the lateral edge of the vocal cord tissue of the subject in a position subadjacent to the vocal cord defect, wherein the in vitro fibroblast cultured cells are retrieved from the subject.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 11, 2012
    Assignee: Fibrocell Science, Inc.
    Inventor: Gregory S. Keller
  • Patent number: 7846465
Abstract: The invention provides a method or promoting healing of a wound, e.g., an epithelial wound, in an animal. The method involves administering cultured autologous fibroblasts to the wound.

  • Publication number: 20080311089
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for corrective surgery in a human subject of a vocal cord defect being amenable to rectification by the augmentation of tissue subjacent to the vocal cord defect comprising the steps of: a) retrieving a plurality of viable cells from the subject; b) culturing the viable cells in vitro; and c) placing an effective volume of the in vitro cultured cells into a tissue of the subject, the tissue being located in a position subjacent to the vocal cord defect to be rectified.

  • Patent number: 7412978
Abstract: A method for corrective surgery in a human subject of a vocal cord defect amenable to rectification by the augmentation of tissue subadjacent to the vocal cord defect, the method comprising: placing an effective amount of autologous in vitro cultured cells into a vocal cord tissue of the subject in a position subadjacent to the vocal cord defect, wherein the vocal cord tissue is selected from the group consisting of a scar, Reinke's space, a muscle of the vocal cord, and the lamina propria, wherein the in vitro cultured cells are obtained by culturing a plurality of viable cells retrieved from the subject, and wherein the cultured cells are suspended in a collagen or modified collagen solution prior to injection of the cultured cells. The in vitro cultured cells can be fibroblasts, e.g., fibroblasts derived from dermis, fascia, connective tissue, or lamina propria.

  • Patent number: 5807385
Abstract: Laser surgery is utilized to perform cosmetic surgery. A quartz fiber is used to direct the laser energy to the target area for the incision, division or resection of tissue. An endoscope may be utilized in conjunction with the quartz fiber to perform the cosmetic surgical techniques. One application utilizes laser energy to eliminate glabellar frown lines and/or forehead wrinkles. Another application employs laser energy to rectify brow descent. A further application uses laser energy to perform a neck lift. In yet another application, laser energy is utilized to reduce nasolabial folds. The use of laser energy in cosmetic surgical procedures greatly reduces the size of the incision required in the skin to perform cosmetic surgical procedures, and as a result greatly reduces the risks of potential complications.
