    Abstract: A method of analyzing characteristics of a gear train comprises rotating a gear train in a first direction, creating a first gear synchronization map of the gear train rotating in the first direction, rotating the gear train in a second direction opposite the first direction, creating a second gear synchronization map of the gear train rotating in the second direction, and controlling torque load of the gear train during rotation thereof in the first and second directions comparing the first gear synchronization map with the second gear synchronization map to determine relevant characteristics of the gear train.
