  • Patent number: 4741662
Abstract: An assembly of lift arms and mounting structure together with simultaneously functioning stabilizers provides improved material handling apparatus for application to small, relatively lightweight vehicles. This apparatus comprises structure for giving the load engaging portions of the lift arms an extended outreach capability, as and when required. The outreach capability in one embodiment is achieved utilizing a traveling base for the lift arms and in another the lift arms comprise telescoping parts. In either case the base for the lift arms may have directly connected stabilizers which preserve balance of the lift arms and the underlying vehicle. The apparatus disclosed features a particularly useful and rugged lift arm assembly having general utility in the material handling art.

  • Patent number: 4306832
Abstract: The invention provides material handling apparatus in the form of a lift arm assembly integratable with or releasably applicable to farm tractors or like relatively small, lightweight vehicles for front end loading and leveling having extended outreach capabilities. An extensible carriage which mounts stably and for guided reciprocable movement on the lift arms carries a material engaging device so interrelated as to enable an advantageous application of forces therethrough, both to break material free from a mass at ground level and to reorient the placement of material at elevated levels. In certain embodiments the material engaging device is tiltable in response and/or correspondence with movements of the carriage. In a preferred from of embodiment of the invention, a guided movement of the material engaging device and the outreach and tilting thereof is sensitively controlled by separate connectors extending thereto from both the lift arms and the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4091940
Abstract: The invention provides a silo unloader having in connection with its spout assembly, comprised of its discharge spout and its underlying torque arm, features of improvement including means automatically functioning to not only facilitate raising and lowering movements of the spout assembly but also to alleviate the stress and strain normally imposed on a torque arm in the course of a silo unloading operation. The torque arm is distinguished by a telescoping construction which accommodates most readily the eccentricities which occur in the tracking movement of the auger at the base of the unloader as it moves in both a circular and vertical direction within a silo, even when it is out of round. The auger motor of the unloader has control means which are mounted on the torque arm.

  • Patent number: 4070991
Abstract: An improved feed bunk assembly embodying a portable superstructure which can be quickly and easily assembled or disassembled as needs require. In a preferred embodiment the superstructure includes load supporting post means which may be slip fit in feed bunk apertures and thereby stabilized. The invention further contemplates that the feed bunk may mount a longitudinally oriented device which may be employed to introduce feed of selectively different types into one side of a feed bunk or the other.
