Patent number: 9183479Abstract: Value tokens, e.g. gaming chips, are formed with a slug having an RFID microchip embedded or encapsulated inside and an EM coil either embedded or encapsulated inside or wrapped around the periphery of the slug. The slug is formed by injection molding two plastic halves with a spacing therebetween for accepting the RFID microchip. The plastic halves are formed from weighted plastic including fillers such as copper, brass and/or tungsten to add extra weight to the plastic halves. The EM coil is placed on the same radius as the RFID antenna within the gaming chip or at a radius outside the RFID antenna to as to minimize interference between the RFID and EM signals by minimizing the metal in the EM field. For example, the EM coil may be wound within a groove around the outer periphery of the slug.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2014Date of Patent: November 10, 2015Assignee: Gaming Partners International CorporationInventors: Emmanuel Gelinotte, Chrispohe Maurice Liboi, Regis Marcel Roger Vicaire, Francisco Javier Moreno, Kirsten Clark, Joseph Brooks Friedman, Gregory Scott Gronau

Publication number: 20140339107Abstract: An RFID plaque box provides secure storage and protection of value tokens (e.g., gaming plaques and jetons) of all sizes and shapes (e.g., rectangular, square, oval or round) and delivers real-time counting and movement details in both high and low frequency RF environments. The RFID plaque box allows plaques or jetons to be accounted for as part of the table's inventory along with the RFID chip tray's inventory (when installed). The RFID plaque box is provided as a fixed storage area that is situated below the plan of the gaming table alongside the RFID chip tray (when provided) with a lid very similar to that of the RFID chip tray or provided in a pop-up mechanism whereby the RFID plaque box is integrated into a gaming table such that when the top surface of the RFID plaque box is pushed, the RFID plaque box will pop-up to lift the stacks of plaques or jetons for access.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2013Publication date: November 20, 2014Applicant: Gaming Partners International CorporationInventors: Emmanuel Gelinotte, Bernard Molina, Miguel Choi, Scott McCarthy, Benjamin Raz, Kirsten Clark, Gregory Scott Gronau, Regis Marcel Roger Vicaire

Publication number: 20130313777Abstract: A gaming accessory, gaming currency or gaming table comprising a surface and a magnetic pigment incorporated into the body or surface thereof is disclosed. The pigment is configured to be affected by the introduction of a magnetic field from a source such that the pigment appears to change from the first appearance to a second appearance when the accessory is placed in the vicinity of the magnetic field. The first appearance may be a color, opacity, color effect, pattern or shape and the second appearance may be one or more of a different color, opacity, color effect, pattern or shape.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2013Publication date: November 28, 2013Applicant: GAMING PARTNERS INTERNATIONAL USA.
