Patent number: 11863280Abstract: Techniques for determining the directional frequency response of an arrangement of transducer elements are disclosed. In an example, a method includes providing a simulation of locations of the transducer elements, in the spatial domain; providing a beamforming direction and a frequency range; converting the simulation of locations from the spatial domain into corresponding frequency response values in a spatial frequency domain, such that, for each frequency of a plurality of frequencies in the frequency range, a spatial frequency contour is defined, each of the spatial frequency contours intersecting at the origin; determining the frequency response by applying a transformation to the frequency response values for the provided beamforming direction and frequency range and translating the spatial frequency domain into a modified frequency domain; and outputting the frequency response.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2019Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: The Secretary of State for DefenceInventors: Gregory Singleton, Philip Henry Glasson

Patent number: 9669888Abstract: A bicycle lock includes a housing having a retractable spool positioned therein, a flexible cable releasably wound about the retractable spool and partially exposed exterior of the housing, a fastener attached to the flexible cable and located exterior of the housing, and a locking mechanism located at the housing and selectively engaged with the fastener and the retractable spool. Advantageously, when the fastener is inserted into the locking mechanism and the locking mechanism is disposed at a first position, the flexible cable has a fixed longitudinal length. Advantageously, when the fastener is removed from the locking mechanism and the locking mechanism is disposed at a second position, the flexible cable has an adjustable longitudinal length. Notably, the first position is a locked position, and the second position is an unlocked position.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2016Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Inventor: Gregory Singleton

Publication number: 20120030708Abstract: A portable media device for use in cooperation with passenger entertainment systems installed in vehicles, such as automobiles and aircraft, and methods for manufacturing and using same. The portable media device is configured to communicate with one or more content sources, which provide viewing content and which may be proximate to, and/or remote from, the portable media device. Preferably being configured to wirelessly communicate with the content sources, the portable media device can select content from any available content source and can download and present the selected content in any conventional manner. The selected content can be streamed to the portable media device for contemporaneous presentation and/or stored by the portable media device for viewing at any time, including after disembarking the vehicle once travel is completed. As desired, the portable media device likewise can be configured to transmit appropriate upload content to the content sources.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2011Publication date: February 2, 2012Inventors: Paul Anthony Margis, James Allen Haak, Christopher Brian Lundquist, Steven Lee Sizelove, Henry Sugilo Osias, Karen Marie Werner, John Andrew Johnson, Drew Calvin Bamford, Sebastian Maximilian Johannes Petry, Stefan Pannenbecker, Scott Bright, Ross Collins, Brian Piquette, Mark Taylor, Christoph Mack, Rand W.
