Patent number: 9439810Abstract: A barefoot orthotic is a foot support that adheres to the underside of a user's foot and is placed so that it extends longitudinally between the metatarsal head region and the calcaneal plantar tuberosity, and laterally between the lateral midfoot and the medial arch. By using a silicone polymer or other similar material, a barefoot orthotic can self-adhere to the skin of a user's foot. A barefoot orthotic can have a midfoot strike zone surrounding the forward portion of the calcaneal plantar tuberosity, a navicular support, a medial arch support, a forefoot propulsion pad, a lateral forefoot support, a lateral midfoot support, a cuboid support flange, a lateral heel support, and a balance rail extending longitudinally from the midfoot strike zone to the forefoot propulsion pad. Together, these components work to support and align the foot and thereby alleviate symptoms of various foot and leg conditions.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2014Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Inventor: Joseph Gregory Stilwell

Patent number: 7518542Abstract: A handheld radar frequency scanner system for detecting objects concealed on a person, the system includes a radar transmitter coupled to a transmit antenna that is configured and positioned to direct a radar signal at a person, a radar receiver coupled to a receive antenna that is configured to detect a portion of the radar signal reflected by the person, and a processor connected to the radar receiver and operable to process the portions of the radar signals detected by the radar receiver to determine whether the person is carrying a concealed object. The system may produce a real-time alert, such as an audible alert, when a concealed object is detected.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2005Date of Patent: April 14, 2009Assignee: CyTerra CorporationInventors: William Steinway, Gregory Stilwell, Herbert Duvoisin, III, David H. Fine, Ravi K. Konduri

Publication number: 20060091888Abstract: A hand-held, wand-type buried object detector includes a motion and position sensor that provides data about the sensor head of the buried object detector. An inertial measuring device including three accelerometers and three gyroscopes is one example of a motion and position sensor. The buried object detector includes a processor/communicator device that is capable of processing the data from the motion and position sensor and communicating feedback, based on the processing results, to the operator about the operation of the buried object detector. In one example, a personal digital assistant may be configured for use as a processor/communicator device of a buried object detector.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2005Publication date: May 4, 2006Inventors: Glen Holman, Herbert Duvoisin, Gregory Stilwell, Jason Clark, Tim Davis, C.
