  • Publication number: 20080294588
Abstract: Correlating security event data according to one or more rules to initiate one or more actions is disclosed. Security event data is received, via an event pipeline, that defines an occurrence of an event. Each type of source of event data may have its own pipeline. Event objects are created from the received security event data, and are gathered into a rules engine. The rules engine includes a plurality of rules. Each rule defines one or more conditions to be met and one or more actions to be taken in response. A rule is evaluated at a frequency over a period of time using data contained within event objects, so to determine whether the one or more conditions defined within the evaluated rule are met. The one or more actions defined by the evaluated rule are initiated whenever the one or more conditions defined by that rule are met.

  • Patent number: 7319973
Abstract: A new system of analyzing advertising revenue derivation is provided that is particularly useful for predicting an amount of revenue that can be expected from advertisements placed in a business directory book having a certain geographic coverage. The system comprises estimating a preference factor of advertisers located in a first geographic area of placing advertisements in other geographic areas. This preference factor, along with other demographic data, is used to calculate a choice probability that advertisers will choose to place an advertisement in one business directory book over other competing books. A total amount of expected revenue for each particular geographic area within a metropolitan area is calculated. Finally, the total amount of expected revenue attributable to a particular business directory book is predicted based on the choice probability and the total amount of expected revenue for each geographic area.

  • Patent number: 6970124
Abstract: Comparator systems are provided that include first and second differential pairs of transistors with inherent offsets that are a function of their tail currents. Some system embodiments configure the pairs to have substantially-equal, nonzero inherent offset voltages and other embodiments configure them to have substantially-zero inherent offset voltages. The systems further include a feedback network arranged to provide a second tail current to the second differential pair that substantially nulls the second output signal of this differential pair when it is driven by a reference signal. The feedback network generates an identical first tail current for the first differential pair which will now accurately compare an input signal to the reference signal.
