Abstract: A treated garment, especially white socks, treated with a soil release composition and a process for treating the garment are disclosed. A majority of polyester yarns from profiled cross section high moisture wicking capacity filaments are disclosed in a garment and sock construction which optionally includes other polyester yarns, polyamide yarns, cotton yarns and spandex. The garments so constructed and treated are rendered resistant to soil re-depositing after repeated wearing and washing cycles.

Abstract: A binder system for applying microcapsules to textile materials includes microcapsules in a binder composition. The binder composition includes: (i) a component selected from the group consisting of: an alkoxylated fatty acid amide, alkyl sulfonate salt, an amino-silicone softener, and mixtures thereof; an (ii) a component selected from the group consisted of: a global type wrinkle resistant resin, an imidazole type wrinkle resistant resin, a cationic polyamide, a curable silicone resin, a polyurethane resin, and mixtures thereof. Methods for making the binder system as well as methods for applying the binder system to textile materials are also provided.

Abstract: A pile article having a support strand for attachment to multifilament yarn to form a velour-like pile having loosely entangled filaments in spaced apart monolithic pile rows, a helically wound package of oriented pile articles for shipping and storage, and a pile surface structure comprising pile articles arranged in spaced apart rows on a substrate to form a pile surface that may be flat or moldable, and a method for making a pile surface structure by embedding the pile articles into the backing substrate. The pile surface structures may be usefully employed in automobile mats, carpets and panels.

Abstract: A hetero-composite yarn useful in making garments comprises a combined biconstituent yarn and a companion yarn, wherein the biconstituent yarn comprises an axial core comprising a thermoplastic elastomeric polymer, and a plurality of wings attached to the core and comprising a thermoplastic, non-elastomeric polymer.

Abstract: A blade member for use in a shutter curtain assembly. The blade member is of a given height and has a top, a bottom, a first edge and a second edge. A first semi-cylindrical interlocking portion extends along the first edge. The first portion includes a pair of inwardly-directed tangs which extend from opposite sides of the semi-cylinder. A second semi-cylindrical interlocking portion extends along the second edge and is sufficiently smaller in diameter than the first portion. A second interlocking portion of a succeeding blade member may be slidably inserted into the first interlocking portion. The second portion includes a pair of outwardly-directed tangs which abuttingly engage the inwardly-directed tangs of the first interlocking portion. A series of blade portions are thus interconnected and form a continuous shutter curtain which is selectively unfolded or retracted.
