    Abstract: A method for using an aqueous hydrotrope solution to remove at least a portion of a solvent from a stream of air containing the solvent, wherein the method comprises introducing the stream of air containing the solvent into a scrubber containing an effective amount of the aqueous hydrotrope solution, and contacting of the stream of air containing the solvent with the aqueous hydrotrope solution thereby producing a first scrubber product stream containing scrubbed air and a second scrubber product stream containing the aqueous hydrotrope solution and the solvent.
