Abstract: An electrostatographic toner composition comprises a polymeric binder and a charge control agent selected from the group consisting of 4H-pyrans having the following general structure: where R1 and R2 are the same or different, each representing H or an alkyl, an aryl or a heterocyclic group, or R1 and R2 taken together may form a saturated hydrocarbon ring; R3 and R4 each represent an alkyl or an aryl group; X and Z are the same or different, each representing a cyano substituent, or an alkanoyl, an aroyl, an alkoxycarbonyl, an aryloxycarbonyl, an arylaminocarbonyl, or an alkylaminocarbonyl group. An electrostatographic developer comprises particles of the described toner composition together with carrier particles.
