Abstract: A system includes a wearable device, a plurality of sound sensors installed in the wearable device, an alerting element installed in the wearable device, and a controller coupled to the plurality of sound sensors and the alerting element. The controller receives a signal indicative of a sound detected by at least one of the plurality of sound sensors, determines whether the sound indicates the presence of a potentially dangerous event, determines a direction of the sound based on the received signal indicative of the sound, if the sound indicates the presence of the potentially dangerous event, activate the alerting element; and if the sound does not indicate the presence of the potentially dangerous event, not activate the alerting element.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for determining electrical characteristics has an acquisition circuit and a control circuit. The control circuit causes a first modulation circuit to issue a first set of modulated signals to a first source of alternating current energy, wherein the first set of modulated signals has a first deadtime and wherein a high side switch and a low side switch of the first modulation circuit are turned off. The control circuit further causes the acquisition circuit to acquire a first electrical characteristic of the first source of alternating current energy from the first source of alternating current energy during the first deadtime.

Abstract: An information processing device comprises a memory carrying a program, and a processor capable of executing the program. The program instructs the processor to determine whether a selected identifier is contained in a set of identifiers, and, if the processor has determined that the identifier is contained in the set of identifiers, to execute a patch instruction identified by the identifier, and, if the processor has determined that the identifier is not contained in the set of identifiers, to execute an original instruction identified by the identifier. The memory may comprise a read-only memory (ROM) and a random access memory (RAM), the ROM carrying the original instruction and the RAM carrying the patch instruction and the set of identifiers. A method of executing a program on an information processing device and a method of modifying a program on an information processing device are also disclosed.
