  • Patent number: 7165328
Abstract: A scissors for cutting, holding, and then releasing an elongated piece of string. The scissors includes a pair of conventional scissors with a spring-clip attachment. The spring-clip has a long leg, a short leg, and a semi-circular bottom portion attaching the legs together. The short leg is rigidly mounted to a first blade arm of the conventional scissors. While the blade arms pivot toward one another, a portion of the string is retained within the attachment after it is cut and then released from the attachment upon opening of the blade arms.

  • Publication number: 20060102649
Abstract: A basket for removing pills from a vial is disclosed. The basket serves as a trap for at least one pill raising the level of the pill, and therefore, making removal of the pill from a vial easier. The basket can be made in a variety of sizes and shapes as well as using many materials. The basket is placed in an ordinary vial and by closing the lid, turning the vial approximately 180 degrees, then turning it back to its right side up position, one can use the Good Cup. The Good Cup is recommended for the elderly especially for people with arthritis in their hands. • Patent number: 6941983
Abstract: A syringe guide for a syringe and vial is disclosed. The syringe guide serves as a guide for the needle to be inserted into the vial. The syringe guide can be made in different sizes, with different materials, and using different constructive ways. It consists of a pipe having a large diameter at one end and a small diameter at the opposite end. The vial and syringe are placed in the syringe guide according to their relative diameters. The diameter of the syringe guide can increase due to the slit running the entire length. A wall inside the syringe guide where the small and large diameters of the pipe meet supports the vial. When withdrawing medication while both the vial and the syringe are in the guide, one does not have to hold the vial. The syringe guide makes working with a needle safer, cleaner, and easier.

  • Publication number: 20050039336
Abstract: A scissor that can perform two functions is disclosed. The Double Action Scissors (DAS) can cut objects just like ordinary scissors, but it can also hold one of the pieces of the object it cuts. The DAS is easy to manufacture due to the fact that DAS can be made from already manufactured scissors. One just needs to attach a spring-clip to the appropriate part of any scissor. The spring-clip can be made from different materials and can be spot-welded if the scissors and the spring clip are metal, or attached mechanically if they are plastic. When cutting small pieces of material, one of the pieces is held by DAS as long as the scissors are in a closed position, and released when the scissors are opened. The DAS helps keep a clean environment, its easy to use, and can perform as regular scissors as well.
