Abstract: For precise alignment of the punch stamps relative to the cutting plates, the respective punch stamp 23 is supported in a floating manner, i.e., in a transversely movable manner, on the head plate 8 associated with the punch stamp. The alignment of the cutting edges of the punch stamp with respect to the cutting edges 49, 50, 51 of the cutting plate 18 is accomplished by at least one stamp guide arrangement 42 that is directly active between the punch stamp 23 and the cutting plate 18 and effects precise relative positioning in a direction transverse to the active cutting edges. The centering elements may extend from the punch stamp 23 through the matrix or cutting plate 18. Alternatively, the centering elements may extend from the cutting plate 18 through the openings of the punch stamp 23 or extend along sliding or positioning surfaces of the punch stamp.

Abstract: A latch needle includes a pivot pin connected with the latch in a torque-proof manner, said pivot pin having mirror-symmetrically shaped bearing heads (29, 30) on both sides of the latch shank (20). The bearing heads (29, 30) are produced by plastic deformation (i.e., axial upsetting of a pin (27)) and have a cylindrical exterior shape.

Abstract: The slider (17) of an improved slider needle (10) comprises a slot guide (24), wherein the slider springs (18, 19) are provided with a dual deformation on their respective cam follower sections (29). The dual deformation is produced, for example, by a double bend and/or by an additional superficial embossing on a partial surface (34) or also by bending over a section (40) close to the edge. Due to this measure, the guiding precision of the slot guide (24) is improved and, if desired, the penetration space between the two slider springs (18, 19) is also enlarged.

Abstract: Guard elements (31) are provided for the corner connectors (16 through 19) of a heald shaft (10) of a shedding unit, said guard elements covering the open space formed between the two legs (26, 27) and thus providing a grip protection.
