  • Patent number: 9239131
Abstract: A hanger bar assembly includes a first hanger bar member and a second hanger bar member. The first hanger bar member includes a first rail segment, a first channel segment including a first channel, and a first stoppage tab extending up above an edge of the first channel segment. The second hanger bar member includes a second rail segment positioned in the first channel of the first channel segment and a second channel segment that includes a second channel. The first rail segment is positioned in the second channel. The second hanger bar member further includes a second stoppage tab extending out in a horizontal direction. The first stoppage tab and the second stoppage tab are designed to abut against each other to prevent unintended disengagement of the first hanger bar member from the second hanger bar member.

  • Patent number: 9212792
Abstract: A light emitting diode module is removably coupled to a heat sink with screws and includes slots configured to receive at least a portion of the screw therethrough, the width of the slot being greater than the thread-width of the screw but less than the width of the screw head. Some slots also include a keyhole having a diameter greater than the width of the screw head. For embodiments without keyholes, the module is coupled to a heat sink by loosening the screws, sliding them into the slots, and tightening the screws to hold the LED module in place. For embodiments with one or more keyholes, the keyhole is vertically aligned with the screw, the module is moved down over the screw, and the screw is moved into the narrower portion of the slot. Then, the screws are tightened to hold the module in place against the heat sink.

  • Patent number: 8845145
Abstract: A reflector assembly and method for installing into a collar. The reflector assembly includes a reflector, a frame surrounding and being coupled to a portion of the reflector, and one or more connectors coupled to the frame. Each connector includes a base portion coupled to the frame, a first finger, and a biasing portion. The first finger and the biasing portion extend in a generally upward direction from a portion of the base portion; however the first finger is angled away from the reflector while the biasing portion is angled toward the reflector. The biasing portion exerts a force on the side of the reflector when the first finger portion is compressed inwardly towards a side of the reflector. The reflector assembly is installed into a collar by inserting the reflector assembly into the collar and allowing first finger to compress toward the reflector and then away from it.

  • Patent number: 8845141
Abstract: A reflector is rotatably coupled to a light emitting diode (LED) module assembly. The reflector includes multiple alignment features that correspond with multiple notches provided in a reflector attachment coupled to a LED light source. The reflector can be made of a non-conductive substrate material, such as glass, and can have a non-conductive, reflective coating deposited on the inner surface of the reflector to allow the reflector to be more closely positioned to the LED light source. Reflector attachments can help to maintain precise reflector position during coupling with the LED light source. Media holders can be removably coupled to the light emitting portion of the reflector and provide for the quick mounting and placement of one or more optical media in the light path output by the reflector.

  • Patent number: 8820985
Abstract: The adjustable device includes a bracket configured for connection to a substrate, a lamp housing configured for supporting a lamp, and an adjustment system adjustably coupling the lamp housing to the bracket, the adjustment system defining a plurality of different selectable positions of the lamp housing relative to the bracket. The adjustment system enables translation and rotation of the lamp housing relative to the bracket to move the lamp housing between the plurality of selectable positions relative to the bracket. The adjustment system includes a locking system to secure the lamp housing in each of the selectable positions relative to the bracket.
