    Abstract: Disclosed is a lighting device (200) comprising a mounting surface (201); a lens (100) comprising a lens body (101) having an inner surface (102) encapsulating a cavity (103) and delimiting an entrance to said cavity, said entrance facing the mounting surface, the inner surface comprising a plurality of adjoining surface sections each defining a segment of the cavity, wherein each segment has a narrowing region distal to the entrance delimited by a curved portion (106) of the surface section delimiting said segment; and an elongate carrier (202) extending from the mounting surface into the cavity segments through the cavity entrance and comprising a plurality of solid state lighting elements (203) configured to emit light towards the lens body. Further disclosed is a luminaire comprising the said lighting device.
