  • Publication number: 20150225739
Abstract: The present invention provides an expression vector comprising an internal ribosome entry site (IRES) element, comprising a sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein the sequence is an IRES element from a gene icp35 of White spot syndrome virus. The expression vector can be easily operated in insect cells or Crustacean cells and has excellent expression efficiency due to having such an IRES element. A multiple expression gene system is also provided herein, which comprises the expression vector. The system comprising the IRES element can be functioned via transfection, such that the experimental process can be considerably shortened, and thus studying costs will be reduced effectively.

  • Patent number: 7429480
Abstract: Disclosed herein are isolated promoter-regulatory regions from a newly identified WSSV immediate early (IE) gene, ie1 (immediate early gene #1), which exhibit promoter activity to drive the transcription of a target gene in non-native host cells. The isolated promoter-regulatory regions can be used in the construction of a variety of recombinant expression vectors for transforming a broad spectrum of host cells.

  • Patent number: 6190862
Abstract: This invention relates to the identification, purification and detection of a new infectious viral agent in arthropods, especially shrimps. The virus is named as WSBV (Baculovirus associated with white spot syndrome). Two WSBV genomic DNA libraries were constructed and based upon the sequence of one of the cloned WSBV DNA fragments, a WSBV specific primer set for PCR to detect the WSBV infection in penaeid shrimps has been developed. The results of the present invention provide an effective diagnostic tool for screening WSBV infection in animal host organisms, in particular shrimps, to prevent the further spread of this viral disease.
