  • Patent number: 11663257
Abstract: Transient computing clusters can be temporarily provisioned in cloud-based infrastructure to run data processing tasks. Such tasks may be run by services operating in the clusters that consume and produce data including operational metadata. Techniques are introduced for tracking data lineage across multiple clusters, including transient computing clusters, based on the operational metadata. In some embodiments, operational metadata is extracted from the transient computing clusters and aggregated at a metadata system for analysis. Based on the analysis of the metadata, operations can be summarized at a cluster level even if the transient computing cluster no longer exists. Further relationships between workflows, such as dependencies or redundancies, can be identified and utilized to optimize the provisioning of computing clusters and tasks performed by the computing clusters.

  • Patent number: 11027140
Abstract: The invention provides an implantable vagal nerve stimulator having a “passive” generating power source that harvests the stomach's movements to transform kinetic energy to electrical charge without the need for a battery. In this regard, the invention is self-powering and is automatically timed to stomach peristalsis. While sporadic stimulation to the vagal nerve would seem too infrequent to cause weight loss effects, electrical stimulation delivered at the optimal time (e.g., during food consumption) has been found to optimize the effects of vagal nerve stimulation, giving the user's brain a “full stomach” signal before the user over-consumes food.

  • Patent number: 9781042
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for systems, devices and methods effective to compare network element instructions and network control instructions. In some examples, first instructions may be identified and may be related to flow of network traffic. The first instructions may be stored in a data structure of a memory of a network element. The network element may generate a first network instruction signature based on the first instructions. A network controller device may identify second instructions. In some examples, the second instructions may be related to control of the network traffic, and may be stored in a memory of the network controller device. The network controller device may generate a second network instruction signature based on the second instructions. The network controller device may compare the first network instruction signature to the second network instruction signature to produce a comparison between the first instructions and the second instructions.
