Abstract: An article of furniture having a removable seat or back cushion. The design includes a frame having a recessed cushion support surface that creates a rim that defines a pocket that allows a seat or back cushion having first and second portions to be securely attached to the article. The first cushion portion is placed adjacent the recessed support surface, and a peripheral lip of the first portion is placed into the pocket in order to secure the cushion to the frame. The second portion provides the user contact surface. In one embodiment, the second portion substantially obscures the edge of the rim from view. As a result, the present invention maintains the aesthetic appeal of an article of furniture having removable seat or back cushions, while providing a more secure and relatively unobvious attachment of the cushions.

Abstract: An improved support area for use with rattan furniture. The present invention provides a frame, a seat contact portion, and a back contact portion. In various embodiments, the chair includes a seat cushion that is supported by a seat support portion of the frame. The seat cushion is covered on its outside by a rattan outer layer that is attached to the seat support structure such that the rattan outer layer conforms to the shape of the seat cushion and the presence of the seat cushion is obscured by the rattan outer layer. In other embodiments, the back support portion may include a similarly configured back cushion. As a result, the present invention has the appearance and aesthetic appeal of a typical article of rattan furniture, having rattan seat and back surfaces, however the present invention provides a level of comfort that is not typically provided by rattan seat and/or back surfaces.

Abstract: An improved support member for use with a table having a frame comprising a table perimeter portion defining an opening, and a channel portion located at least partially within the opening and substantially adjacent the table perimeter portion. The support member comprises a support portion and a lower anchor portion, and is configured to support a table top having a peripheral edge. The upper support portion of the support member supports the table top adjacent the peripheral edge, and the lower anchor portion of the support member is received by the channel portion of the table frame. As such, the present invention provides an improved table top support member for use with table tops made of relatively brittle materials, such as glass. Unlike prior art table top supports, the table top support member of the present invention provides continuous support adjacent the peripheral edge.

Abstract: A multipurpose portable table, and table and chair set. The multipurpose portable table provides storage for folding chairs or the like within its frame and includes foldable side portions. In various embodiments, the table includes a positionable handle and roller legs ends that allow the multipurpose portable table or table and chair set to be easily transported by a single person. The table, and table and chair set may also include a retaining bar that is structured to retain stored chairs or the like in the frame while the multipurpose portable table or table and chair set is being transported. Additionally, in some embodiments, folding chairs of a multipurpose portable table and chair set may include fabric seat and back rest surfaces, and the table top may include a glass surface. As a result, the present invention also provides an aesthetically appealing, comfortable, and cost effective multipurpose table, and table and chair set.
