The Lactobacillus helveticus KD-3 has a cadmium resistant gene czcD, a chromium resistant gene chrA and a lead resistant gene pbrT, and is capable of tolerating single and compound heavy metals (cadmium, chromium and lead). The Lactobacillus helveticus KD-3 of the present disclosure is used to prepare lyophilized bacterial powder.
