  • Patent number: 6986373
Abstract: An automobile pneumatic tire comprises a multiple-ply carcass extending in-between two bead rings having allocated bead fillers, a belt arrangement between the plies of the carcass and a tread strip, and rubber reinforcement plies in the sidewall sections assuming a supporting function where the tire is deflated. A first rubber reinforcement ply is inside a first ply of the carcass, a second rubber reinforcement ply is between the first ply of the carcass and the second ply of the carcass, and a third rubber reinforcement ply is between the second ply of the carcass and a third ply of the carcass. The three rubber reinforcement plies extend down with their ends staggered in relation to each other from the bead core area to the edge area of the belt ply. The three rubber plies have different heights in radial direction and different thickness over the height of the sidewall.

  • Patent number: 6854761
Abstract: The airbag system for a motor vehicle extends below a dashboard and exhibits a generator housing, which is aligned in the transverse direction of the motor vehicle and which forms a blast channel for an airbag between integrated walls and adjoining separate face-sided walls. In load position at least one integrated wall of the blast channel can be displaced in the downward direction. In a first integrated channel wall of the generator housing a head impact element can be swiveled unilaterally in bearings; and in a starting position the head impact element can be suspended by means of a compression connection in the second integrated channel wall of the housing and can be disconnected in a load position. The connections can comprise semi-form-fit connections or springy connections.

  • Patent number: 6536494
Abstract: Pneumatic vehicle tires comprising a carcass which extends between two bead rings, a belt arrangement provided between the carcass and a tread strip, and also rubber reinforcing plies arranged in the sidewall regions, which adopt a supporting function when the tire is deflated, are characterized in that a single rubber reinforcing ply is arranged radially within a first carcass ply and its maximum thickness is disposed in the upper half of the sidewall height; with the rubber reinforcing ply extending from the bead apex region up to and beneath the edge region of the belt ply, and with the bead apex, which extends approximately up to the half sidewall height, being surrounded by the first carcass ply.

  • Patent number: 6510883
Abstract: The invention relates to pneumatic tires for a motor vehicle comprising a multi-layer carcass. Said multi-layer carcass extends between two bead rings, a set of bracing plies provided between the layers of the carcass and a tire tread, and rubber reinforcement layers arranged in the side wall areas which support the tire when it is deflated. The invention is characterized in that a first rubber reinforcement layer is arranged radially within a first carcass layer and a second rubber reinforcement layer is arranged between the first carcass layer and a second carcass layer. The two rubber reinforcement layers extend from the bead filler area to a position under the edge area of the bracing plies. The two rubber layers vary in thickness across the height of the side walls.

  • Patent number: 6460890
Abstract: In order to cause a deformation or a yielding, in the event of a head impact onto a safety belt system of a passenger vehicle, a deformation element is interposed which deforms plastically and absorbs energy. So that an exchange of numerous parts is avoided, an arrangement for a belt level adjuster is configured so that after a head impact, only the deformation element needs to be exchanged.

  • Patent number: 6106012
Abstract: A deflection fitting for seat belts of vehicles, particularly motor vehicles, is held in position via a fastening screw. A head section of the fastening screw and at least a partial area of the deflection fitting is covered by a cap in the direction of the occupant compartment. In the event of a head impact of a vehicle occupant onto the deflection fitting or onto the head section of the fastening screw, the risk of injury is reduced by a hollow-body-shaped deformation element disposed between the fastening screw and the cap, which is made of thin-wall sheet metal.
