    Abstract: A method of producing a printing element or writing head having a common ink chamber formed in a surface of the substrate which chamber has a pair of channels separated by a ridge and is covered by a comb and conductor loop arrangement having middle portions with the ink nozzle characterized by applying a plurality of different layers on the substrate, creating an electroplating mask on the last-applied layer, electroplating to produce the structure for the comb and conductor loops, then forming an etching mask by removing portions of the plating mask and the layers of material underneath those portions in the area of the channel, removing the material of the substrate to form the channel and then subsequently removing layers to loosen the middle portions of each of the conductor loops from the ridge.
