  • Patent number: 9217228
Abstract: A self-propelled construction machine for working roadways or surfaces includes a machine frame supported by ground engaging units, and a milling drum which can rotate about an axis of rotation extending transverse to the advance direction of the construction machine. The construction machine includes a cooling device for spraying the milling tools of the milling drum with a coolant from a coolant reservoir. The cooling device is designed such that at least one coolant jet extending parallel to the axis of rotation of the milling drum is produced. A single coolant jet which extends transverse to the working direction of the milling drum is sufficient for cooling the milling tools. When the milling drum is rotating, the milling tools of the milling drum pass through the coolant jet successively.

  • Publication number: 20150354150
Abstract: Methods of and apparatus for controlling relative telescoping extension or retraction of multiple telescoping assemblies is provided. The telescoping assemblies connect the main frame of a slipform paver to a side member of the slipform paver. Each telescoping assembly has a telescopic lock associated with the telescoping assembly. A common telescoping force is applied across the telescoping assemblies to widen or narrow the frame width of the slipform paver. Extension of the telescoping assemblies is monitored, and activation of the telescopic locks is controlled so as to determine which of the telescoping assemblies is allowed to telescope under application of the common telescoping force.

  • Publication number: 20150284918
Abstract: An automotive construction machine, in particular a slipform paver or a road milling machine, has at least one front running gear and one rear running gear in the working direction. As the construction machine advances, the lifting systems of the front running gear are extended or retracted such that the machine frame remains in a predetermined orientation to the surface of the ground in the longitudinal direction. Irregularities in the ground surface are detected as the construction machine advances, and the position of the front lifting systems, predetermined by the control or regulating unit, is monitored to keep the machine frame in a predetermined orientation to the ground surface. As the construction machine advances, the control of the rear lifting systems is engaged with a time delay subject to the control of the front lifting systems.
