  • Publication number: 20090043448
Abstract: An operating method for a vehicle having at least one toggle switch with which, when it is activated, it is possible to change between at least two assigned applications or application groups, and an associated operating system. After activation of the toggle switch has been detected, activation states of at least two assigned applications or application groups are determined, and at least one of the assigned applications or application groups is activated as a function of the determined activation states. A predefined basic state of a predefined application or application group or a stored last state of an application or application group which is activated last is set if all the applications or application groups which are assigned to the toggle switch are in a first state.

  • Publication number: 20080221747
Abstract: A control system for a motor vehicle having a manual actuating device with a plurality of degrees of freedom of adjustment for selecting and/or activating entries from a menu structure and a screen display (2) having a plurality of display areas (210 to 250) for displaying the menu structure, the display areas (210 to 250) each comprising at least one field for displaying one of the entries. In an activated display area (210 to 250) in at least one menu level, a first and/or a second of the plurality of degrees of freedom of adjustment of the manual actuating means for selecting and/or activating one of the entries corresponds to an orientation of the displayed entries, and a third and/or fourth degree of freedom of adjustment of the manual actuating device for exiting the active display area (210 to 250) is respectively orthogonal to the orientation of the displayed entries.

  • Publication number: 20080215189
Abstract: A control system for a motor vehicle, including a manual actuating means with a number of degrees of freedom for selecting and/or activating entries in a menu structure and a screen display with display areas for displaying the menu structure. At least two degrees of freedom of the manual actuating means move a cursor for selecting and/or activating one of the entries in an active display area. A first degree of freedom corresponds to a turning movement, and in a clockwise direction about a z-axis a second degree of freedom corresponds to a turning movement in a counterclockwise direction about a z-axis. In addition, cursor movement in the active display area is effected by the first and/or second degree of freedom, depending on the orientation of the displayed entries.

  • Publication number: 20080039961
Abstract: A control system for a motor vehicle has a manual actuating device with a plurality of degrees of freedom of adjustment for selecting and/or activating entries in a menu structure with a plurality of menu levels. The system also has a screen display with a plurality of display areas for displaying the menu structure. Each of the display areas comprises at least one field for displaying one of the entries. In at least one level of the menu structure, at least one display area which is active for selecting an entry can be displayed on the screen display. At least one subarea of the other display areas is displayed graphically in a different way than the at least one active display area.

  • Publication number: 20080021598
Abstract: An operating system for a vehicle, including a display screen containing a plurality of representation regions for representing inputs of a menu structure with a plurality of levels, a manual actuating means for selecting and/or activating at least one input in a current level of the menu structure, and voice control means for a redundant selection and/or activation of at least one input from the menu structure. The voice control means evaluate the current menu level and/or an active representation region and/or a current cursor position, and determine an operating purpose according to the evaluation. Once the voice control means have been activated, they start at least one voice dialogue associated with the determined operating purpose for selecting and/or activating at least one input from the menu structure.

  • Publication number: 20070279316
Abstract: An optical display system for a vehicle (10), having at least one first display unit (1) and at least one second display unit (2), with information for display being allocated to the at least one first display unit (1) and/or to the at least one second display unit (2). It is possible to switch from the at least one first display unit (1) to the at least one second display unit (2), or from the at least one second display unit (2) to the at least one first display unit (1), as a function of a determined current driving situation, in order to display the information.
