    Abstract: A method and an apparatus are disclosed for quenching workpieces. The workpieces are exposed to a flow of a quenchant fluid. The flow is reversed in its direction. The workpieces are moved through the flow along an axis being essentially transversely to the axis of fluid flow. The workpieces are also reversingly moved.
