    Abstract: The adjusting device for adjusting a position of a sun roof of a vehicle has one incremental position encoder and two absolute position encoders, with whose aid, at each position of the sun roof, an unambiguous association with the actual position of the sun roof is possible, regardless of whether there has been a failure of the adjusting device or a mechanical change in position of the sun roof. The adjusting device of the invention is intended for a sun roof of a motor vehicle.
