  • Patent number: 7311417
Abstract: A flashlight has front and rear interconnected housing portions which define an interior waterproof chamber. The waterproof chamber carries an illumination source, an electronic drive for the illumination source and a power source. A switch system includes an electronic switch component for switching the relatively high current required for the electronic drive while a mechanical switch (e.g. a magnetic reed switch) activates the electronic switch component, therefore maintaining integrity of the waterproof seal about the chamber. A commutator assembly is provided to maintain electrical contact between the switch and other components. The power supply may be in the form of a plurality of battery stacks batteries aligned in the housing in a manner to provide a compact unit, while electrical components may be mounted to circuit boards positioned transversely to the length of the flashlight.

  • Patent number: 7152473
Abstract: A sensor apparatus (104) includes a plural different spatial direction axis of sensitivity positioned sensor package containing sensor module (305) supported by a planar surface (345) within a cavity (340) of a housing (205) coupled to a first end cap (210) by a PC-board connection (355). Housing (205) is further coupled to first end cap (210) by a first coupling member (315) and a second coupling member (320) and is also coupled to an opposite second end cap (215) by a third coupling member (320) and a fourth coupling member (325). Interface sealing members (330a, 330b, 330c, 330d) seal between housing (205) and first end cap (210). Interface sealing members (335a, 335b, 335c, 335d) seal between housing (205) and second end cap (215).

  • Patent number: 5859506
Abstract: A high-efficiency low-cost electronic controller circuit for powering incandescent lamps which provides constant RMS voltage output from a battery or other varying output DC supply. The controller prolongs lamp life by limiting the cold filament in-rush power thereby reducing filament thermal shock deterioration. The controller further prolongs lamp life by supplying rectified AC power which reduces lamp filament embrittlement. A supply voltage monitor indicates a low-battery condition by flashing the lamp. A battery tester enables determination of the battery voltage which is indicated by pulse-coded modulation of the incandescent lamp brightness. A transistor contained in the controller eliminates the usual high-current mechanical power switch.

  • Patent number: 4322778
Abstract: An improved high performance semiconductor package assembly for interconnecting a plurality of integrated circuit devices having a multilayer substrate with internal wiring including signal wiring and external signal and power connections, a plurality of integrated circuit semiconductor devices supported on the top surface of substrate in electrically connected operative relation, the improvement being a power supply distribution system for providing electrical supply voltages to the devices from the power connections consisting of radial waveguide structure including parallel waveguide planes with a low input impedence to reduce switching noise, the waveguide planes located between the signal fan-out wiring and internal wiring metallurgy and connected in common to all of the plurality of devices.
